Well you can go wrong with a "Bushnell Trophy" $135.0 maybe, if that.
PS: When you buy something tell the wife you got it from a guy being deployed and couldn't take the stuff with him/her and that it was pennies on the dollar.
Agree with Bushnell Trophy, or for a few dollars more Nikon Prostaff 3-9 x40 about $160. Welcome to the site. Lots of scope discussion in the scope category on this site to keep you busy reading for days.
Howdy folks, I'm new here. I'm from east Texas. I've always loved the .308 and until the loss of my tried and true bolt action never needed another one. Now I'm in the process of buying a 10-A4 carbine W/sst barrel. I'm hoping research has served me right and it'll be the hunting rifle/home defense all-around gun I;m hoping for. This site seems great and informative. Thanks to all those who created it. I look forward to learning and enjoying my purchase as well as the info and hospitality of this forum. Thanks Ya'll.
Hey Lonestar. What part of ETX are you from? I'm over Shreveport way. A bunch of us are talking about grabbing the TX/LA state line over by Waskom and moving it East about 30 miles.
... And not just any gun. The last damn ar10t in .308 in America
( and if not, damn close )
Man, anyone try searching the net for this baby recently?
Long story short, wasn't fun, but found ONE new from factory in.308
FYI , checked armalites website, NONE of there guns are in stock, wonder why.
Also, I assume that this site is for ar10t for every mfg, so when I mention my gun, I should mention armalite as well, right ?
Still waiting for it to come I , so I thought I would fill that time with more ar10 talk
Greets, and c u on the forums... I'll be the one askin questions every day!
Welcome to the forum Lonestar and Paulv. You are going to love your new rifles. I've had my 10A4CBSF (16" SS ) for almost 3 months now. Ive put 280 rounds thru it so far and it has been flawless. There are some good guys here that know their stuff when you have questions. The AR10 is a great rifle, I'm sure you will soon agree when you get some range time with your new Armalites. Congratulations to both of you.
Hello all, I am fairly new to the whole AR platform. You see I was going to do my own build of AR-15 2 winters ago, but I fell in love with my RRA LAR-15 Elite Operator2. I was doing research for my new idea to build at a local gun shop, and there she was hanging on the wall. Guess you could say it was love at first sight... Anyway now I am ready to head down that path again with an AR-10, so I am here to soak up as much info as I can. I am looking forward to learning from all you and any direction will be greatly appreciated.

No kidding! We wanted another 10NMBF, and Armalite and Bud's had zilch. I was checking their websites a couple of times a day, and last Tuesday Bud's got them in stock, so I ordered one (credit card, and no cash discount because I didn't want to lose it). The funny bit is it was shipped from a local distributor (Sports South LLC), and it was delivered the next day! Talk about instant gratification, that's it!
Here's another funny thing: When the order was processed the website said they were out of stock again. I think I got the only one!
The bad news is that the 10BNMF no longer comes with a 10 and two 20 rd mags, there's just the two 20s. Grrrrr!
I think the first think I'd tell you if you don't already know-and I found this out the hard way- is that AR-10s differ from AR-15s in that the parts are not as interchangeable between brands. I got a JARD trigger for my Arma Lite that was supposed to be a self contained AR-10 drop in trigger...when I got it, it wouldn't fit...the housing was too large to fit into the receiver. When I contacted JARD, they told me that they had spec-ed the housing to fit into a DPMS gun, and I had to send them my lower receiver to fit the part. Also, the Magpul P-Mags for the SR-25/M-110 rifles will not fit into the Arma Lite either...by a long shot. In the AR-15 world, you can almost be certain that all of the specs are going to be within a workable range, but not so much in the AR-10 world, as each manufacturer seems to do their own thing-I don't think anyone has agreed on a standard yet.
Greetings from the Commonwealth of Virginia. I just purchased my first AR-10 rifle with one more on the way. I have had a great deal of experience on the M16/AR-15 platform stemming from my time in the Marine Corps and as a law enforcement officer, but I know each weapons system has it`s own quirks so I`ll be looking to those who have more experience on this platform than I.
