Welcome to the forum Deadweather, There are some very knowledgeable guys here that will give you straight answers. I recently bought an AR10 carbine with a ss barrel. It is very accurate and not so heavy that it will be a problem to pack it all day hunting. I am very pleased with my ArmaLite. You cant go wrong with them.

I've had an AR 15 for a while, but I'm a newcomer to the AR 10 world. I just picked up an AR 10T a week ago. Awesome gun! Looking forward to some great times with it. Looking forward to participating in AR10t.com. I've been searching for a rear iron sight that is adjustable for both windage and elevation. Anyone have any suggestions?

I RELOAD MY OWN BUT, WHEN I WAS WAITING FOR MY BRASS I COULD NOT WAIT TO SHOOT IT AND PICK UP 2 BOXES FROM WALLY ,I THINK THEY WERE 155'S FEDERAL
RED BOX AND IT WORKED JUST FINE IN FACT I WAS KIND OF SURPRICE HOW GOOD THEY
SHOOT.

WHY WILL YOU FEEL NOT SAFE ON USING FACTORY AMMO?
IF YOU STAY WITH IN 150 AND 169 YOU SHOUL BE FINE

Welcome Andre!

Tank... you need to order online and www.targetsportsusa.com has free shipping on a case of ten boxes, 200 rounds (sometimes it's differnt amounts in the "case"). You can get 168gr Federal Gold Medal Match Sierra Botatial Hollow points, that may end up being the best factory round you can buy for your rifle but will definately shoot great, they are clean, good reloadable brass... 99 cents a piece to your door no sales tax no shipping cost. If you calculate gas costs, sales tax.. those seventeen dollar rounds are probably costing you the same and they are just regular old plinkers that probably are not the cleanest and who knows how well they'll shoot. But that site and www.cheaperthandirt.com are the two I've found with the best prices. Search these sites with "price low to high" and see what you can get for what. The "Prvy Partizan" stuff is pretty good for the price I hear, Fiochi is pretty good for the price, and here is a good example of a cheap deal... www.targetsportsusa.com/p-1205-federal-a...tail-ammunition.aspx (buy the case)... bottom line... if you are going to shoot a lot of rounds you gotta order online in cases or you are either giong to get killed with sales tax and gas money, or shipping costs on a few boxes here or there when the shipping costs half what the box of cartridges cost... in fact before you spend a bunch of money on accessories and nice scopes and this and that... you might want to plop some doe down and a case of some good affordable ammo or they won't do you much good. Ammo will be the biggest cost of this gun moving forward...

DO NOT CYCLE SOFT POINTS THROUGH YOUR RIFLE. You can chamber them manually one at a time with no problem. But each round cycled, especially cycling while actually firing, you will be putting layers of lead in the feed ramps, and chunks can be knocked off and can even begin to melt into the chamber walls, and eventually some will be taken into the barrel. Some people will say it's okay, they do it, never had a problem. There are "pointed soft points", like Remington CoreLockt, that are just hollow point tips filled with lead... these are fine, but make sure no lead flashing and debris from imperfect manufacturing are present (they will be) and use something like your fingernail to clean the tips up so that none is hanging or present on the copper jacket or beyond the flat of the hollow point. If you will take any hollowpoint and cycle it through, like the Fed GMedalMatch's I reccomended, you will see that your feed ramps will dent up the tips a little bit. If there is lead there, you are going to get a little lead present most likely on the feed ramps even with these pointed soft points... but the actual soft points that are nothing but a shaped lead tip are going to mash all over the place and eventually cause you problems. If you have some already, use them one at a time for long range group shooting, use an empty clip so the bolt will get held back after it fires, and shooot your groups, whatever. There is nothing to fear in doing this.

perfect answer thanks.. i wont mind loading single like that every once an while to save a buck here and there. small town kansas here so walmart bout all to go to for anything so i'm there unfortantly 3-4 times a week. I have every brother and friend wanting to see it in action but hard watchin ppl shoot my $1 bullet every pull of the trigger.. As my fat friend says " shooting double cheese burgers every shot..
but thanks again ill never load them soft points in but i may do the single load like u say every once an awhile, also that will help not to wanna pop off a few fast ones that seem to do much of nothen but make a huge grin..

It might seem a little crappy... but ask your friends if they want to shoot a box, pay your what you paid for em after you give em five rounds on the house or something.
