Thank you for the advice. Typical range will be 150 yds. or less.
Do you have any experience with a red/green dot magnifier and how well it may or may not hold it's "zero" ?

Yup. A magnifier does simply that - it magnifies. Most are between 3x to 5x. The red dot sight (RDS) itself is what gets zeroed. The two leading makers of RDS' are Aimpoint and EoTech, but most scope makers have an RDS in their line. Most quality red dots have no problem holding zero, even under the recoil of .308. For hunting at 150 yds or less, I'd look at RDS' with a dot between 1-4 MOA. Any larger, and the dot will obscure too much of the target and lead to poor shot placement. As for magnifiers, a good thing to have is a flip-to-the-side mount. The mount is hinged, so that when magnification isn't needed or wanted, the magnifier stays out of the way.

Leb,

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there was a flip away style scope mount.
I think this would be best for me.
Great advice.

Thank you.

OK I think this is where I belong. Like I said I'm new to this online forums and chatting and what not. Hello my name is jeff and I live to shoot. I'm new to the Armalite and .308 win family and I really excited about this. My AR10T is still at home new and waiting for me. Soon once I get the optics worked out. Hope to have great things happen here with you folks.

Hello fellow gun nuts, i just singed up and wanted to say hi and will most likely be looking around allot since i just put in for an Armalite L10PCB lower that should be here in the next few days.

I was really up in the air on the 243 upper or a 308 upper so if you guys can think of or point me in the direction of some good posts on here pertaining to the AR10 243 upper it would be much appreciated since i have seen and researched more then enough about the 308.

See you guys around the sight: wes213
