I'll most likely use it as a bench gun, and rarely take it in the woods...I did check out that Nikon scope thread, something like that would probably work for me, breaking the bank on a scope would be anything over 500, being that it's almost half the base model gun price, I looked on Armalite`s website for the bipod.
As far as the furniture goes I'm not really to sure what's out there, I just meant a different color and a more comfortable grip.
Ya... I put gripe on both my carbine and SASS.... I used I'm using Magpul and Hogue.... I like them both... if you have large hands.. the Magpul's are fuller....I'm not fond of finger groves....
The Sass has one of those fancy Mag pull stocks and it os nice... However I have always liked the standard AR stock which is on my carbine and it fits me well..... I can understand guys with long arms boney faces wanting something deferent.....
Geezzzz....... You have big arms... You would make a good farm boy......
Yea I am looking at the magpull, I have pretty big hands...and lol I was raised in a cow pasture,in the country so I have seen my fair share of "farm" work.
Welcome DFC, lots of good info about your new weapon here (congratulation on the new purchase). Browse away. If you do have particular questions please feel free to ask, there are no dumb questions here. We have and are building a really complete knowledge base here. Look forward to your posts. :welcome:
Hello Everyone! Seems like a great group of knowledgeable guys on here! I’m completely new to AR's. I have been around guns my whole life and love to shoot. Saving up the cash to order my RRA LAR-8 Varmint A4! Right now I have a Remington 700 30.06 I use for white tail hunting and I recently restored and mounted a scope on my Grandfathers 303 British (1944 Longbranch Mk4 – hence my user name) and I take my father in-laws RRA LAR-15 Elite Comp out when I can get my hands on it.
I didn't know where to post this in the topics but here is the deal... I have a sand pit on my property that is just crying to become a range with a little work I could get it to about 400 yards. The pit was reclaimed recently so the backstop there and we use it for a makeshift range when we are bored. I want to get it set up to be a real nice range. The only thing I can’t really find and information on (that isn’t extremely expensive) is I want to be able to have a moving target to practice for yote hunting. So a moving target that can move up to say maybe 20+ mph that would run continuously so you could take multiple shots while it is on the move… Any recommendations, ideas, thoughts etc would be greatly appreciated.
If I should move this topic to a different section of the forum let me know and I will do so.
We definitely have some great guys on here and one thing we pride ourselves on is that although there is a LOT of knowledge here, the one thing we are short on is "know-it-alls" who laugh at people for asking questions.
We're all members of the best club on the internet and do our damnedest to respect each other even when disagreeing so you're in a good house for sure.
I see no problem with starting a "Range Suggestions Please" thread or something of that nature in the 10MOA section which could certainly generate some good discussion if you'd like to.
Again, welcome aboard. Always glad to have new members posting here at the Home of the Big Bang ARs - AR10t.com...
