The phrase "pot calling the kettle black" comes to mind........ ;)
Jay, careful if you open the "random images" thread, you may want to gouge your eyes out!

Trust me when you consider the source, being called a little "off" is probably a good thing.

:dance: You guys are cracking me up.

On a side note, a rather important one, I ordered my
16" Armalite AR10 tonight...super excited.
I wanna get a decent scope or scopes, bipod, and different furniture to start... :woohoo:

Haven't really looked too hard yet, open to suggestions for sure.
Really need guidance on a decent scope, that won't break the bank

Are you looking for rails or just a smooth free float tube with a bipod stud? mostly depends on what you want to do with it. If it will be a bench gun then you don't really need the rails, if you want to put lights or lasers on it then you'll want rails.
Scopes are one of those things that are real subjective, like what breaks your bank? I've been using a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5x10 and been happy with it, it cost me about $250 on ebay but that was a pretty lucky buy, I bid for weeks before I won it. I've never even looked through a Nightforce or Leupold so I don't know what I'm missing. Nikon makes a scope just for the 308 that gets high marks from several members, there is a thread here on it under the scope section;
www.ar10t.com/forums/rifle-scopes/13930-nikon-m-308
If your looking for a rugged battle scope then Trijicon ACOG's are something to look at, they make versions special for the 308 as well.
You don't want to go too cheap on anything, you'll end up buying it twice. I tried the cheap bipod route and had it fall apart as I shot!

Back when I started this site the only AR in 30 caliber was the AR-10 from ArmaLite. There are many more manufacturers joining the game and a few more to come in the near future. I've been very happy with my ArmaLite AR-10T.
