Nice website. Been shooting rifles for many years, bolts, single-shots, levers, semi-autos. Just about everything.
Borrowed a friend's AR-10 for a couple of days and got myself hooked!
I am now researching and looking to buy my first AR-10.

Looking forward to getting some great info from your site.

But I want more noticeable results further down range!

There are two other things that have drawn me to the AR (If anyone has any info on either of these please contribute).
-I have heard that there is a 12ga. conversion for the AR-10 and I like that idea a lot.

-I know the AR-15 has one of these but is there a 22LR (or any other "cheaper" caliber) conversion for the AR-10?

I am looking to build a multi-function gun that I can keep in the 7.62x51/home defense/varmint configuration but break down and convert to a plinkin or hunting/sniping rig.

I also need advice on optics, barrels, suppressors/compensators, etc..

I need help now but I hope to be a contributor in the future.

dieselbuff WELCOME TO THE GRUOP! I have not heard any thing about a 12ga conversion for an ar10. I have heard that they are making a .410 AR but i cant remember which platform they are using. If you have any questions just start a thread and ask away!

Hi,

My name is Bill. Just added a DPMS .308 Oracle to my arsenal. Haven't fired it yet. Bought a bunch of 168grn match ammo for it. Had a slight mishap on my dual-sport motorcycle last weekend checking out possible hunting areas and now have casts on both hands and a broken foot as we1l. In the meantime, I'm looking for a decent optic/scope for the DPMS for both shootingrange plinking and hog/deer/exotic/varmint hunting out to 150-200 yards. Would appreciate any recommendations. Holo, red-dot, or conventional scope. I wear glasses if that makes a difference.

WELCOME to the group! If you plan on huntin from a stand or in open country i would recommend a regular scope. I like nikon and leaupold. If you have any more questions fire away.

I am a new member and gun collector from Delaware. Moved here from "The People's Republic Of New Joisey" almost ten years ago to escape the taxes, overly restrictive gun laws, and ex wife!
I have two Ars. One is a Bushmaster/Stag hybrid "house gun" and my survival gun, and AR10A4. Both with EOTech, 517 and 3X magnifier on the AR10 and a 557 and laser on the AR15.
