Welcome aboard, so to speak...Nice looking build you are doing there. Look forward to the completion when it happens....
I have always thought it would be cool.. to build one and leave it shinny, but put black high-lights on it to set it off....but that is another story.....
I see it has the slanted receiver end...and you adre using ArmaLite parts....This is good...LOL
You have more patients than I....that's for sure...
Again welcome and any help you need just pick the category and post away....we will do our best to help...

Even if you decide to Anodize it Black etc... You will still be able to see that it is fully machined instead of a casting. Great looking Lower. Reminds me of all the hours I spent working on aircraft parts and Missile components. Did you do most of it on CNC or Manual?
I am in the North Texas (DFW) area, but I am out until December-I am in Iraq with the National Guard until then. I just built my first AR-10 as well. (well, my gunsmith did-I just paid him lots of money) I've been shooting for a long, long time, and I am a B4 qualified Army sniper. Like I said, I'll be gone until December, but if I can be of any help to you, just let me know-welcome to the forums!
I'm the head programer at an aerospace/military shop and everything was done on a cnc. 3 ops from the blank to the finished part. Im debating on engraving a shark mouth on the front like the p-40 warhawks. Just something to make it even more unique. Also, yes it is an armalite not a dpms style receiver. I have done a couple ar-15s but those were all forgings, this is my first total project. I have been working on it off and on for 2 years, but total I have about 70 hours into programming, tooling, and machining 7 receivers. I plan on getting a ASI 450 marlin top end next for boar/bear hunting.
Wow, Cool stuff. yes the P40 Warhawk idea is very cool indeed. Very cool to see your project. The knowledge you gain from solving programming and fixture problems on setups like this is worth a lot but the satisfaction from building a beautiful custom lower like this is awesome. Can't wait to see the finished project. Keep us posted.
My name is Kent Stevenson. I was looking for a 5 round mag for my RRA LR8 26" Varmint barreled 308 and stumbled on the website. I am 61 and just about to retire again. Wanted to use my RRA LR8 to varmit hunt in Oregon. I need a 5 round mag to stay legal. Thats my short story.
My older AR-10T came with "5 and 10" round magazines. These were the same size externally but one had a weld spot where it appears a rod was welded across the magazine to limit it to 5 rounds. Apparently during the ban a permanently modified magazine limited to 5 rounds was acceptable.
