Welcome! I have a recent AR-10T, and an older one, though both are modified somewhat. The 10T forend has rail sections available. It basically has a 5" opening at 9, 12, and 3, with three inch openings between. The 6 o'clock position (bottom) has several tapped openings. ArmaLite has rails adapters fit in these openings. I am putting 5" sections at 9 and 3. These are for lights, lasers, side sling swivels, etc. The Harris S-LM Bipod will attach to the sling swivel at 6 o'clock. If you want to go with the rail attachments, ArmaLite has a rail setcion that can be screwed to the bottom, and an ARMS #32 adapter can be used. The adapter is a little difficult to find in stock. The rail sections are $40 each. I also added the MagPul PRS stock, and it is very good. It does have a rail section under a cover at the bottom. On one of mine I have an ArmaLite scope mount on an ARMS quick lever attachment. The other has the pair of ARMS #22H. If you don't have a scope in mind, one scope you might want to look at is the Nikon Buckmark (?) 6 to 18 power Mil Dot scope. Midway has them on sale for $309.99. It isn't the best available, but does a pretty good job.

Best of Luck,
Barry

You might also want to take a look at the 5 pack magazine sale at the ArmaLite site. Five 20 round magazines at $30 each, or a 10 pack at $27.50 each. They also have the other capacities on sale too. The other scope I have mounted is a Leupold VariX III in 3.5 x 10. It is a tick or two brighter than the Nikon, (which is also available in a lower power version, I know the 6 x 18 has tactical knobs and side focus). You might also look at the Leupold Mark AR (I think that is what they call it). I haven't looked very closely, but the prices are reasonable. The later 10T is my Semi-SASS, with most of the SASS options, but having the 10T barrel. The 1 MOA is a guarantee, with ammunition the rifle likes you can probably beat that.

Best Wishes,
Barry

It looks like this will be the one (10TBNF):

I recently built that identical rifle. The upper was ordered complete but the lower built from scratch.

I haven't done much with it yet but break in the barrel and sight it in with flip sights. (MI gas-block-mounted FS and Larue RS). I did buy a Viking Tactics sling in real-tree camo that is just awaiting mounting options.

Amazingly, I didn't have to sight it in at all! No kdding. The first shot out of the gun was dead nuts in the 10 ring at 43.5 yards. I just laughed.

My plans for this gun, when I get to them, is a Nightforce F1 with the MLR reticle on a GG&G QD mount, Armalite rails for the aluminum tube to mount a GG&G bipod, and some kind of side-mounted sling swivel (probably LaRue)

I am in no hurry with this one. The irons are fine for now. It's functioning perfectly, and that makes me smile. I won't waste too much ammo on it though, until I scope it.

Enjoy your rifle.

Maestro,

My second AR-10T was a top end from ArmaLite with a standard ArmaLite lower. Currently the older lower is on the new upper, the new lower needs trigger work.

Great job on getting it right the first time! I ordered MI sling/rail mounts. The Ching Sling comes with three swivels, so I only needed the post. I also ordered the SASS gas system kit, probably a mistake on my part, at least I was able to get the quad rail that way.

Cataract surgery on the master eye with a problem. Until it is better I have to use optics. I will upgrade scopes once I recover from the rifle cost. I have an EOTEC on an AR-15, that works very well also.

These rifles are more fun than the .223, plus it does a better job on feral hogs in east Texas.

Good Luck to you fellows with the new 10Ts!

Barry

That's good to here, i like to do things right the first time if at all possible (better then the FNAR) and this looks like a good start. Last time i shot was with an old M16 and M60 though. lol

What ammunition do you suggest for ~1MOA at long range, and what ammo do you suggest to break this puppy in, ideally something inexpensive.
