I need help ASAP. I'm replacing the factory gas block on my 10t with a Larue low profile gas block. I need to know whether the spacing from the back of the black to the center of the port is .3" of .275". Apparently Larue has no idea, and Armalite won't return my phone calls. Thanks!
Here's the Larue wabsite...it might help clear up what I'm asking:
I'm sorry to hear about your gas block dilemma. Ordinarily, we here at ArmaLite strive to answer such questions quickly by being available on the phones or by taking part on the various forums. Unfortunately, nearly EVERYBODY is at Camp Perry this week. The one tech-guy we left behind to answer calls and watch the forums had to leave this morning and won't be back until tomorrow (Thursday July 15th.) I am decidedly NOT a tech guy. Sorry. I will show your question to our tech-guy tomorrow morning. Until then, I KNOW the guys here on ar10t.com will offer all the help they can.

I didn't want anyone to wait until tomorrow, so I went and talked to our gunsmiths. Here's what they said: "It's .295" from the start (back) of the shoulder to the center of the gas port." I hope this helps.

Dear Uncle Armalite,
From all of the mail you get, from what ammo related issues do you get, like from people who use cheap Russian ammo, LE agencies that are using inapropriate ammo, and the incompetant reloader (who won't listen to what anybody says) who threatens you with legal action because his blaster broken.
Thanks

Tom,
Hardly anybody ever asks me ammo questions. When I DO get an ammo question, I pass it on to one of the many experts around here. The factory is full of them: our president, chief engineer, gunsmiths and tech-guys. The factory's pretty empty this week because of Camp Perry. But if you have a specific question ask away and I'll get you an answer. It might take longer than usual, but I'll get your answer.

Barry,
Glad you're happy. The website's always open. We're here Monday thru Friday 8 to 430 central for your phone calls. Patronize your local ArmaLite dealers. If you EVER have trouble getting things you need/want, just e-mail me here or send a message in the forums. I usually check this site on weekends unless my lovely wife pulls the plug and hides the cord.

"unless my lovely wife pulls the plug and hides the cord."
Dude...that's harsh....mine said she was going to axe the internet once....ONCE....I told her I would be leaving soon after...A man has to do what a man has to do...that is all there is to it...Because mine will set in her sewing room for hours, so she has no room to talk....
