I am not looking to do anything myself...do not have the tools to disassemble the upper or proper spraying equipment. Just wondering if I could send the upper to Armalite and they could "paint" it.
Does Armalite have a service that will "paint" my SS barrel on my AR-10 T? I like SS barrels but I hunt and would like to have the barrel and gas block painted black, similar to Armalite's SASS Ceramic Coated barrel.
Not really into spray painting the gun my self...had R-25 with the cammo dipped....did not like it....scratched too easily.
If possible, I would send it to Armalite for this, instead of gunsmith...etc.
Thanks,
Brian
ArmaLite hasn't done paint schemes for a while now. I wish they would bring it back.
I spoke to a rep there and they recomended Predator custom to get my rifle done.

Brian, I have a friend that does dura coating, I could see what he would want to do it...or you could find someone locally to do it...I am sure it would not cost that much to have it done...as far as doing it your self...well if you don't feel comfortable doing it, then don't...I always say sometime in life you just have to let the pros do their jobs...that is why they are pros...
But one idea, MSH give me some input on this one....You could take off you hand-guard and tape off your receiver as not to over spray it...use some steel wool to rough the barrel and suppressor and use Engine paint....Flat Black...that would work and not cost you much..it may not last a whole long time but it is a quick solution to the issue...

Magpul UBR stock on an AR10 Carbine?
Saw the sass picture on facebook with the ubr and it got me to thinking.
There's resources out there that recomend after market buffers to fit a ubr to an AR10 carbine, but does Armalite have a tech note/kit/reccomendation for mounting a ubr to the carbine?
Crux, I was under the impression that you had to have one specifically for the AR-10, being they are bigger...might be wrong on that, but I know that some of the MFR list ones for the AR-15 and the AR-10....I know CTR comes in both...might just be rambling...here

The only thing that you have to look for is the OD of the receiver extention tube.
AR-10 receiver extention tubes are just like the M-15 tubes and would be concidered mil-spec (and I use that term loosly too). The only diference is the inside deapth.
So you could get a mil-spec CTR and drop it on an AR-10 and be good to go.
As for the UBR, you will need a shorter buffer, due to the M-15 receiver extension tube. Check out this web site and you will find what your looking for.
