"This too shall pass" (Persian: این نیز بگذرد, Arabic: كله ماشي, Hebrew: גם זה יעבור, Turkish: Bu da geçer (yahu)) is a proverb indicating that all material conditions, positive or negative, are temporary. The phrase seems to have originated in the writings of the medieval Persian Sufi poets, and is often attached to a fable of a great king who is humbled by the simple words. Some versions of the fable, beginning with that of Attar of Nishapur, add the detail that the phrase is inscribed on a ring, which has the ability to make the happy man sad and the sad man happy. Jewish folklore often describes Solomon as giving or receiving the phrase. The proverb and associated fable were popular in the first half of the 19th century, appearing in a collection of tales by the English poet Edward Fitzgerald and being employed in a speech by Abraham Lincoln before he became president.
It is such a common sense idea that many people from many times very well could have had the same idea, but the Sufi's seem to have documented it first. I wish that part of Muslim heritage could get more air time, the more I read the more I'm sold on the idea that we are and have been all connected.
We are all connected through war and peace.

Of course.... It also seems to me that American Arabs and American Muslims haven't been as good as they could be by a long way... In expressing their heritage and belief systems.. culture and history.... However they are very involved on local levels with groups such as interdenominational organizations...... With good community effect... It works well in my town...
They really aren't that good and don't have the Cultural background of using current media options To express their positions....
Is always a disappointment to me that they don't have radio talk shows across the country....
If I had the resources I would do one.... And the essential theme and format I would use... would just be stories of the old days... Sunna.. Hadith and stories of the Rashadin and the Compainions of the Prophet..... They are amazing....
It would be good for Muslims also.... As I believe too many of us have forgotten the Chivalrous.. Tolerant.. Generous.. Essence of Islam from the early days......
