I haven't really decided what I plan to shoot out of it, but I forgot to mention that when I bought it it came with 120 rounds of Winchester 7.62 x51 147 Grain Fmj and an ammo can full of loose federal 308.
I havent bought the dies for this one yet but I am a reloader. Any suggestions?

Small base die set is what You will need for the semi auto rifle. I use the SBDS for My M1 Garand too.
I have been sticking mainly with the 150 grain BTHP variety but I have not got Mine rifle dialed in yet, just got a chrony a while back and waiting to be able to get to the range for some tabulations.
After reading about how much better the 168s perform I might be rethinking and loading for those on the next batch.
Rayd, if it is the standard carbine and not the 10 T, you might take a look at something in the 168 gr range, such as the Sierra Match King BTHP.. The new Barnes bullets look interesting to me, but I can't say the best weight, because of their different construction. My AR 10 Standard rifle digests anything and gives good accuracy. It really likes the 175 gr Sierra Matchking BTHP. I have been using RL 15 powder, I wanted Varget, but couldn't find any and RL15 is probably just as good. CheCk the Archives under reloading . A lot of good posts on tis.

There's one re-loader here who has the sh*t nailed down, but I cannot seem to remember him posting anywhere here for quite a while now.
Shoot what you've got and document it. On the ArmaLite website they have a TechNotes section which is really inclusive on every aspect you've thought of.

Welcome Ray to the family,,
being a long range shooter ,, I find that a min bullet weight is 168 bthp ,,
I have had some success with 180 gr but BD over 800 yds gets extreme ,, I stay away from +P loads right now ,, messed with a few heavy loads and ballistics went crazy,,
hope my .02 cents helped
:silly:

What kinds of results did You have, if so ???
Hello. Been a member here for awhile now but I'm just getting ready to buy an AR 10 platform. Trying to decide between an M&P 10 and a Sig 716. There is about a $300 difference. I know the Sig is well rated, but heavy. The M&P is nice and light but the pencil barrel concerns me. Does anyone have experience with the M&P 10 and/or the Sig 716 that they'd like to share. Any pluses or minuses on either one would be appreciated. Thanks. I like the light weight because I have a bad back but wonder about recoil and barrel heating up quickly.
Should ad that I will probably use my SDN 6 can on it.
I guess I'll ad a Windham .308, didn't know they made them.
