Check with AR and ask where they send the SASS to get it coated? I forgot, but they do send it out..
getting back to the original topic of the perfect general purpose AR10 my personal opinion would be a medium length barrel no more than 18 inches H-bar flattop upper collapsible stock with Magpul UBR cause I like the cheek piece a good red dot/holo sight also backup peeps possibly a bipod or maybe not cause of added weight DI cause the Armalite Rifle hence AR was designed by Mr.Stoner that way and needs to shot what every you put in it whether 762 NATO import crap or 308 match.

I used high temp stove paint on my AR-10TU, it can be scratched of with a little effort and a fingernail but it is cheep functional and reversible.
