I see you've still got the 2 point attachments for the sling. Are you going with a standard sling or have you given any thought to maybe changing to a different style?

I know we've talked about it a bit but was just wondering which direction you're leaning toward...

Nice lookin rifles man. Tough to go wrong with a Nikon ANYthing when it comes to scopes I think....

My wife wanted to "pop a couple O pics" yesterday although I ain't much for posin but here's a couple of em... I figured anything to keep her happy since it was 31 degrees at the range and she was good enough to come with me although she didn't want to do any shooting this trip. I think she's denying me the pleasure of watching her shoot til I finally get the green together for HER rifle...

I ain't much for postin pics of myself on on the internet but what the hell, I'm gettin old now - prolly slippin in the head a bit...

Now that looks awesome, nice set up Sharkey.
I haven't put much thought into a sling at all, I haven't even touched the rifle yet, I pick it up in January...what would you suggest for a sling.
Most likely will be used as a bench rifle, might take it in the woods once or twice.

Sling are a serious matter of:

A. Preference and
B. How you plan to use the rifle.

If you are going on long humps off into the hills and don't expect your game to come jumping out at you, there is always the simple and effective 2 point sling where you can throw it over your shoulder and hump all day.

Then of course there is the single point sling with the 2 point sling conversion clips that can be converted back and forth with a couple of quick changes of clip placement.

Then there is the strict single point sling (which I use but I actually have more than a dozen hanging around of all kinds).

Then there is a 3 point sling as well and wow, it really just goes on and on.

I think you should first evaluate what you will normally be using this rifle for and then figure out what MIGHT be the best sling to fit your uses and then take it from there. The good thing about my single point is when I'm at the range, I just pop it off and leave it in the case so it works for me.

And yes, I know, I didn't REALLY answer your question  but like I said, it's strictly a preference thing based on purpose minded discovery.

Check out the "slings" tab and see how many options are listed there and then start thinking about it. The good things is, most slings are pretty cheap so if it turns out you don't like your first choice, nothing wrong with having spares around... :)

Harris bi-pods have been industry standard for ages, but have not been updated much at all in that time. Harris is currently what I use. I'd love to switch to an atlas or bobro but those cost more $$$.
Other brands to consider are GG&G, Bobro (makes the GG&G), accushot, and I'm forgetting a few. Be forewarned that there are copycats to the harris bi-pod. Some of them are in use by other members without issue while others have failed pretty quickly.

You can see the Harris on mine in the photos. I know Colt says they haven't been updated for a while but neither have I and I still keep on ticking and ticking and ticking...

I've got several of them and never had any issues. Money well spent when you buy a Harris. Just make sure you review all of them before buying to be sure and get one that will best suit your needs.

Mine will "cant" side to side which I like since not all surfaces are flat and I don't have to adjust the legs every time I move.

Just locktite the screws once you get it set and I also have a GG&G quick detach so it pops right off and with the locktite, it's pretty much a no brainer going back and forth between legs and no legs... :)
