I just received a new AR10/243 for store stock and drooling all over it. Might dispose it to myself to stop the constant distraction. It calls to me from the rack. Got a 308 in the same order but the 20" 243 looks like a tack-driver. I almost ordered the DPMS versions but really wanted to check out Armalite. Fit and finish is real good, slight looseness when upper & lower are pinned. Not enough to justify a rubber wedge. Let us know how yours shoots when you get the upper.
Got back from vacation a few days back so it looks like its time to start working on this build again, with my lower and 2 20 round gen 2 mags in hand all thats left is the upper and some ammo but it wont be long now.
I find it really cool you made your first post in my thread sansone, as i said before as soon as i get my paws on that upper there will be a flood of pics of the gun and its groups rolling out so stay tuned.
Hell i might even make a video for my you-tube channel just for s**ts and giggles.
hey wes-
when are you getting that upper? I can't shoot store guns obviously, but anxious to hear how the armalite upper shoots.
I'm also considering a DPMS 243Light because it only weighs 8lb but the light brrl may not shoot good enough for paper punchin'
you're my guinea-pig buddy
My birthday is on the 25th of this month so i am thinking i should have the cash in hand that day, plus i can use the B-day as my reason to get the upper so the old lady don't s**t herself at the price i got in this thing so over all i will be ordering it between the 26th-28th.
sorry to hear about the truck.
I got crazy impatient and assigned the AR10 (.243) to myself. That's another way of saying: "I bought it".. It's heavy but shoots great. The Armalite .243 upper is not chrome plated (bore) which is more accurate anyway so I'm glad. Only fired a few rounds but recoil feels like a 5.56 AR15 due to the 9 pound weight. Mine is the 20" heavy brrl without flash hider
