I never did hear back from customer service. I found a butt stock on ebay that has the perfect fit I was looking for. Cost me $20 but at least it won't draw blood! It is very preplexing to me why Armalite would let such a simple issue tarnish their reputation.

I'm not aware of the buttstock issue as this was handled by the repair department. With that said, I answer all the info@armalite.com and sales@armalite.com and don't ignore emails nor do I go home with emails still sitting in the inbox. I don't know who was emailed concerning this but it wasn't info or sales though if it was addressed to the repair department I might have passed it on.

We strive for good customer service here and try the best we can to resolve any issues that might arise. At times we can get overwhelmed with phone calls and at times like now we are short staffed as we have some people working the ArmaLite store at Camp Perry so this makes it even harder to get in touch with someone. Please be patient and if you have to leave a voicemail, please do so and we will contact you as soon as we possibly can.

Glad to report the Armalite rep called me and got things squared away. He is even sending me some goodies for the hassle, hat and such, I couldn't talk him out of any magazines but I'll be proud to wear the hat. Thanks Armalite, there are more Armalite products in my future for sure!

Glad you got all squared away and glad Armalite reps are here to take of things. A quality product will get you customers but customer service is what keeps them or loses them. High quality customer service will keep people coming back and pay a bit more for it.

Cheers.

I think I missed their reply.
Is this as good a fit as they could give you?
I have a similar A2 style stock from them I ordered.
It replaced my collapsible stock.
I never thought anything about the slight mis-alignment.
I just liked the better shoulder lock-up.
It felt better than the CAR stock.

wow.

new to this forum, so not sure on the eccentricities here, vs other forums...so i'm just gonna throw this out there...

my 0.02?

unacceptable.

Armalite designs one of the best black guns out there, and w the engineering, the buttplate and stock don't line up?

c'mon now...

Shame on the QC dept.

And members here saying 'suck it up, its a Mack truck, etc, it's not supposed to be pretty, etc'...I call BS...a Mossberg 590 doesn't come built like a jalopy...and poor fitment and looks are mutually exclusive...

You spend $1500 on anything, it should be worth the cash...hell I'm happy when I find $5 in a pair of jeans...so I guess $1500 is relative around here...I get it...

Sorry if this doesn't rub good w the house Arma rep, but the customer service there is like herding cats...a serious PITA if you want quick turn-around...and they like transferring you around to people that have nothing to do w your question, and then after waiting, they dump the call...my first hand exp...

but non withstanding,IMO, after the hassle you went thru w the shipping back and forth, they should have just replaced the plate and stock at their cost, and not bought you off w a hat and sticker...

good on you though for ending up happy...

If you sell a product, your customer service is your word on the street...loose that credibility, and it can be exponential...you have too many calls for you reps? hire more people.

Like I said, new here, sorry if this comes across blunt, but I don't pull many punches...

carry on.

I hear where you're coming from.
Other Mfgs do a nice job of fit and finish for their accessories.
Why can't Armalite?
Handgaurds are warped and stocks are of poor alignment at the buttplate.
Small stuff compared to making a featherwieght 308 of real quality.
There seems to be a trade-off going on.
I suspect that Armalite may subcontract the furniture.
I have no conflict with that.
Maybe, Armalite's Purchasing Dept. is unaware that there is a problem.

Good point on the subcontracting.
* One of the big reasons I bought my FN FNX. USA made.

They did say it was a supplier issue. I was suprised they let this out, twice, but the more I shoot the rifle the less I care. The ebay stock is smooth and tight like it should be and the Armalite supplied stock is in the junk parts box. If my nephew borrows the rifle for hunting I'll put the Armalite stock back on to absorb the scratches. They did offer to let me send the stock in again but I couldn't see the point, let them concentrate on the next problem. If the rifle was not so damn accurate I might not have ended up such a happy customer, do you think they figured that out?
