It is incumbent upon you to learn the history of branches to understand the
military, below is an accurate synopsis:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and the
INFANTRY, and God saw the INFANTRY, saw that it was good, and he was
pleased.

And God spoke unto the INFANTRY: "Be tactical, and proficient, and
rule over the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over all the KEY
TERRAIN."

And the INFANTRY dwelt in the land therein.

And it came to pass that many missions were upon the INFANTRY, and
they called upon their God: "Oh, God, help us, for we are weary."

And the Lord heard their grunts and took mercy on them, for lo, key
terrain was abundant throughout the land.

And he raised up the weakest of the INFANTRY and set them upon beasts
of burden and these he called CAVALRY. And the CAVALRY became ARMOR.
And the Lord saw the ARMOR, that it was mediocre, and laughed, saying:
"Well, thou can't win them all. Let them lead in case of landmines."

And the INFANTRY and the ARMOR dwelt in the land therein.

But it came to pass that the INFANTRY again called out: "Oh Lord, help
us, for we are weary."

And the Lord heard their voices and looked with favor upon the
INFANTRY, for they were blessed.

The Lord reached down among their numbers and chose of those with
butts like baseplates and breath like sulphur and called them FIELD
ARTILLERY, and the FIELD ARTILLERY created AIR DEFENSE ARTILLERY, but
quickly asked forgiveness.

And the Lord said unto the INFANTRY: "When it is dark the FIELD
ARTILLERY shall light your way, and when thou need HE, WP, TOT, H&I,
and Counterbattery, all these you shall have."

And the Lord gave the FIELD ARTILLERY big guns and rockets and
missiles and best of all, nukes. But the Lord saw the FIELD ARTILLERY,
it too was mediocre, ands spoke unto them: "Tryest not to hurt
yourselves."

And the INFANTRY and the ARMOR and the FIELD ARTILLERY dwelt in the
land therein. But it came to pass that the INFANTRY again called upon
their God: "Oh Lord, help us, for we are weary."

And the Lord heard their voices and stretched out his hands and
touched those of the ARMOR and FIELD ARTILLERY of small minds and
called these creatures ADJUTANT GENERALS.

And those who could not keep up he gave wings and called these
creatures AVIATION. God reminded them THEY COULD NOT SECURE TERRAIN.

And those who were miserly and called these creatures FINANCE CORPS.
And those who spoke in riddles and called these SIGNAL CORPS.

God stretched out his hands again and touched those of lengthened arms
and called these MILITARY POLICE.

And those who were filled with greed and called these QUARTERMASTER.
And those who were sickly and called these MEDICAL SERVICE CORPS. And
those who hid in darkness and called these MILITARY INTELLIGENCE. And
those who were eternally lost and called these TRANSPORTATION CORPS.
And those who played in dirt and called these ENGINEERS. And those who
conspired with duds and called these ORDNANCE CORPS.

God saw all these he had touched, and knew that they were indeed
touched, and the INFANTRY and the others dwelt in the land therein.

But it came to pass that the INFANTRY again called out: "Oh Lord, help
us, for we are weary."

And the Lord looked upon the INFANTRY with anger and the heavens
roared with thunder and the skies burned with fire. And God spoke:
"How couldest thou yet be weary? I have given unto thee ARMOR and
FIELD ARTILLERY and a host of others to provide support of thee."

And the INFANTRY humbled themselves before the Lord and answered unto
him: "THAT IS OF WHO WE ARE WEARY!!"

And the Lord smiled upon the INFANTRY and forgave them, for he
understood that of which they spoke, they were the INFANTRY, by God!!

Now abideth INFANTRY, ARMOR, FIELD ARTILLERY, and many assorted
others, but the greatest of these is the INFANTRY.

THANK GOD FOR THE INFANTRY.

LMAO! One of my buddies went green to gold and got sucked into ADA. He hates it with a passion.

Just wonder if you were there when my mentor and friend, MG Wilson 'Dutch' Shoffner was CO? ('89-'91 He was a good GO, I enjoyed serving under him and he did a lot to forge my career.

I was actually in Germany from 1990 to 1992 with 1st BN 7th INF 3rd IN DIV. and deployed to Desert Shield/Storm from there 90-91...

Later on in my career I was at Fort Stewart, GA. from 2002 to 2004 with 3rd BN 7th INF 3rd IN DIV. and deployed to Iraqi Freedom 03...

So both wars' I was with 3rd ID. Hence the star in my CIB.

I've requested my casket be lined in Infantry blue......strange what a person can actually miss.....maybe I was brainwashed, even with the hard time I had at the end of my run I would do it again if I could.
