I'm getting ready to start loading for my new AR-10T, 20" 1:10. I'm going to use H4895 and Sierra 168 gr Match King. Just looking for a starting place if someone has a favorite load for these components. Thanks.

Steve

Look up the thread Range Report: Fresh out of the Box! That was started on December 3. LebbenB gives me some good advice on one of his favorite loads for 168 gr Sierra Match King's. And believe me, LebbenB knows his stuff! Or send him a message asking for his advice, I am sure he will help you out. The man is a walking firearms and ballistics encyclopedia.

Yeah now I got you set up. If it doesn't shoot 1/4 MOA at 500 yards your rep is ruined.

Nope. There's always the rifle, the weather and the shooter to blame.

There's old "Trigger pullers" (like me) and then there are guys who really spend the time to learn every aspect of pretty much EVERY stinkin thing to do with shooting - ammo, guns NOBODY knows or even WANTS to know about, windage from a beanery as compared to wind from, ya know, just wind, or all sorts of OTHER unGODly stuff I couldn't imagine trying to keep in my old bashed up noggin - and that guy would be Lebben for sure.

We gotta have some kind of "MVP" award or something and whoever wins, gets a set of stripes on his avatar for a year or something...

Maybe send him some flowers - do you like Petunias or will Daffodils?

...do you like Petunias or will Daffodils?

Dead roses will work nicely.

As for all the technical knowledge/data running around in my nugget: I was a professional Soldier for two plus decades. I was expected to move faster, farther and fight harder than any other Soldier and to teach others to do the same. To that end, I attended all the schools and training courses I could. I also read voraciously and maintained a pretty rugged personal shooting regime. It was all based on a desire to keep me and mine in the fight. I've deployed to some pretty remote places without a lot of the infrastructure most Soldiers take for granted. We had to know a lot about our equipment to keep it mission capable.

I'm just happy to share my knowledge with others.

:twothumbs: thanks for sharing, and thanks for your efforts and sacrifice to protect our country and us. Now, do you have any loads that will make me look like king of the local range? :rotfl: just joking on that one.

Try poking the target dead center with a pencil as you set it up and then, with your cockiest grin, unload an entire clip of blanks from the hip...

Might even wanna throw in a blindfold...

You'll be a legend....
