I guess I shouldn't be surprised, my nephew spent time in both theaters and continues to amaze me with stories of interference from above while at the same time not getting anything like the support I was trained to expect. I was blown away when he told me on a good day it took more than an hour to get air support for emergencies, if it was available. Made me feel shame so I passed it on to my friendly government reps. My nephew never really complained, just answered my questions and then thanked me for my service! I don't know whether to be honored he credits me for his interest in serving or just feel guilty for being part of the reason he has to live with this experience.
No doubt this generation of young men and women are our best hope for the future!
GOD BLESS THEM ALL! :usa:

That sucks. I ran pmags, I bought a couple of 10 packs and passed them out to my buddies for Christmas. We even did our own "run over the pmag" video. There was some leeway in our weapons, I used a few after market bits and pieces that now reside in my AR15. LMT enhanced BCG was a good investment. Mostly everyone kept it to stocks, grips, and optics. I did spend a couple of days in the arms room going through trigger parts to get the tightest tolerance and polished everything up on my platoons weapons. The only issue we had with reliability was 249s, but that was the case regardless.
I do recall seeing some of the fallujah jar heads with magpul M93b's on their weapons, so I had always assumed you guys had some allowances on changing stuff around.
