When you were an officer and one of your men had doubts, I am CERTAIN, after having read all that you have ever said, you took some time to reassure him that you would be beside him and press on with him no matter what and did NOT remind him of 3 other units you know of that were all slaughtered, disemboweled, drawn and quartered and left in piles.

I believe in YOU Cowboy. I like your posts, your input and have been one VERY happy member to read your posts - right up until you started in with the "drawn and quartered" thing when one of our men had strong feelings about our futures.

Have I had any coffee today? Sure. I love the stuff. But I didn't "quote" anything in your post other than to say it was not helping - and instead, was making things seems even MORE hopeless to men who may and obviously DO already have doubts and worries.

We need to keep everyone moving forward and I respect you Cowboy, but sometimes making a list of things the government is capable of doing, is not exactly the most reassuring thing to a man who is already worried he may end up having to break the law to live.

We all worry about this stuff but for the time being, the ONLY choice we have is to fight the political way and not get too preoccupied with these obvious abuses of power.

We know they are capable of it. What we NEED to know, is what WE are capable of when we make a stand...

I'm glad you came back at me because it brought out the VERY best in you that is what I am used to on these issues Sir.

The last time I was in Texas Buddy, I will warn you that I was known as "the Yankee from Hell". At which time I would arrogantly correct them saying "that's the SWAMP Yankee from hell booooys (apply my best southern drawl there) - and where ever I'm standing, that's Swamp Yankee territory - ya got a problem with that booooyyysss?"

There usually weren't many takers. Dunno why. Might been my new old spice stick deoderant maybe....

It is good to disagree sometimes and I'm glad you are the man that you are Cowboy. :thumbs:

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I am not trying to start a fight. I am just stating my stance. I have written to everyone I could think of, I have gone to rallies, I have made phone calls. I have even set up a gun trust. I am going to continue the good fight even if it feels like I am swimming against the tide :banghead: .

What I tried to say is I AM NOT GOING TO JUST ROLL OVER. If everything I have done and continue to do fails my line is drawn. I have friends that feel the same way and we have a plan. None of us will start anything, none of us would stand out in a crowd, we are just average guys with one thing in common; NONE OF US WILL JUST ROLL OVER. These people are people I trust and people I have known a long time.

I suggest that any of you that feel the same way make a plan. I hope it never gets to this point. I pray it never gets to this point. I sincerely feel that it won't come to this. But if it does I am ready. I won't be one of those people that you have read about that tries to make a stand against 1000 cops and the National Guard. We all know how that would turn out. We will just disappear and make a stand where we planned.

I am not a nutjob, I am not a conspiracy theorist, I do not want any kind of anarchy or revolution to start. But I am not going to stand by and watch my family and friends get walked on. I am going to be ready to do what I have to do.

If this is illegal then I am going to be a criminal. I have been planning for a while. Knowing that we have elected an immoral, corrupt government. Both parties are determined to make the other look bad no matter what happens to America. Accountability is out the window. We GIVE guns to criminals and no one is held accountable. We TAKE GUNS AWAY from law abiding people and no one is held accountable. Politicians time and time again are caught in shameless situations and they are given a pass.

The straw that broke this camel's back is when they started taking guns away from veterans that carried guns to protect our way of life. They were well enough to watch guard over us but now when the government needs an excuse to take guns away from the people that know how to use them....VOILA we'll use the VA. The part of the system that was set up to help our veterans is now abandoning them. And worse is actually working against them. If I have a problem now the last place I will go to is the VA.

OK my rant is over. You all know where I stand. We need to keep fighting the political fight as long as we can. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. AND ABOVE ALL WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER!

Gentlemen, not being a veteran, I am probably not the one to say this, as a lot of you know more about being in tough corners than I. But I know that when I have been faced with crisis situations in the past, when I responded with discipline, self control, and not letting my emotions control my response, is when I have handled them the best. We have good reasons for our position, we know we are right. We know what we must do before considering what to me would be difficult options. Stand together and convince the majority that there is a better way to solve this than indiscriminate gun control. Even Scientific American supports finding out why individuals resort to violence against innocents as a more effective way to deal with it than gun control. I read that in the copy I just got in the mail. Don't let up your efforts, we are making headway. Now that we have cleared the air, we need to stay focused on the job at hand.

You are right on...

A key point I make to all, is that the 2nd was given to us: in order that we can DEFEND ourselves against a govt out of control

There is NO shortage of guys out there, like Shark was talking about, running around in camo's talking about how they are gonna start shooting. I have met them, talked with them on and off forums and here is my take:

If Sgt Sam ShootStraight from local PD shows up at their house, these guys will be the FIRST to turn and as Sgt Sam drives away guns ammo in in his squad car Charlie Camo is mopping up a yellow stain on the floor and his wife is trying to get brown stain out of his shorts.

They are all bravado and the forums are LOADED with them, wanna go find some check out any Preppers or Survivalists forums. WOW, scary and its the very thing we legit gun owners and DEFENDERS of our freedoms do not need. They are nut jobs, conspiracy theory supporters and if you ask them a question you get a lot of replies that say they cannot tell you for security reasons as they BELIVE they are being watched by the FBI, DHS, CIA etc...not kidding, been on those forums and finally quit them, Obama has brought out some of the worst in people...
