I can see the need for LEOs maybe to deal with this...but not our own government...It leads people to believe that they are starting to Train on Civilian Targets for just that reason...Where does it End...
As a Citizen of this (Once) Great Country...knowing that they could be Training to Kill me...is Unacceptable....If I am trying to Stand up for my Rights...but that has always been the Ploy of Tyranny....
Just saying...Not being an Alarmist....Just worried. :unsure:

I'm not disagreeing about the abuses of government, I'm pretty sure we are all on the same page there. What I am, and will always be, skeptical about is media. I remember Ruby Ridge and Waco and the only thing more disgusting than the mainstream aftermath was the flood of BS from 'us'. Those media outlets that were supposedly on our side and digging deep for the truth were not one ounce better than the CNN bobble heads. I recall them publishing pictures of random and unidentifiable construction sites and claiming secret government death camps for Christians. Videos of US army vehicles dressed up to look like Soviet iron, OPFOR training that had been going on for ages, was suddenly a conspiracy to work with our new red masters in our streets... and on and on.

I messed up checking out this story, I can admit that no problem. But I have seen so much BS over the years I simply MUST QUESTION EVERYTHING.

I agree that the .gov is off the freaking rails, but seriously I can not care less if they train with the targets in the story or a standard B27. My concern is what they are training to do, If they are training to do it, and is the training any better than mine.

I used to be kind of a couch potato. Going to school and working at the same time didn't give me much left over energy. Lately the best motivator I have for getting off my :censored: is the US government. I figure they are training their people I had better start getting myself in shape too.

Thanks to Obama I have lost weight and gotten back into (kinda) shape. I guess besides being a good gun salesman he should be the poster boy for working out.

So is it perfectly OK to have civilian targets at the range of Police officers
and DHS agents? I put up a post about civil unrest a few weeks ago and some thought I was a nut job. Now DHS is in fact shooting at these targets. No kidding, it's happening.

NOW THAT BEING SAID! I understand the mindset as a former LEO and other LEO's will agree. If you look at the targets the backgrounds are faded down. The reason is to teach officers to look for the gun, not the person. In the Coast Guard we had Shoot/No Shoot videos we shot at. Sometimes a grandma would pull a shotgun out of a shopping bag. These targets and videos have been around a long time.

But yes Ol Cowboy, there always white.

:ohmy: I posted this mesage on another website acouple days ago;if the govt is okay with targets depicting civilians at/or in their homes/property carrying and or brandishing weapons for police and military training-then why are'nt they pics of middle eastern dressed persons and not western american types?
And if this type of target is okay for leos,military-then how much humor do you think that the govt agencies would have if we had targets depicting leos,and gi's?I would put money on it that the least would happen is confiscation of firearms,several nights free room and board,and shower friends in the iron bar hotel!
Something really stinks about the pictures of these "practice targets"!That and the timing coinciding with the govt agencies buying all the hollow point ammo for"practice"!

LEO's are constantly confronted with the thought (and fear) of having to shoot someone - any age, any race and under severe conditions.


Civilians on the other hand, should NOT be practicing to shoot LEO's unless they are training to be criminals. There is currently NO reason for civilians to be practicing and/or shooting at targets of uniformed officers.

I guess I'm training to be a criminal then. From my perspective in this little Iowa town the biggest defense worry I have is defending my second amendment rights. It only makes sense that if someone is coming to take my guns they will be LEO's. As far as targets go it would seem to me that a standard black silhouette target is a pretty close representation of an LEO in a SWAT uniform. Yes, currently there is no obvious threat to my guns, the local Sheriff has promised he would never participate in any confiscation so I should just breath easy......for some reason I still feel better when those 308 rounds all hit center mass of the black silhouette, better to be prepared for all threats, as Cowboy has mentioned in the past, civil governments have killed far more people than war ever will. For some reason America has gotten this complex that makes them believe it will never happen here, I can't drink that kool aid, never is a long time! :twocents:
