Sorry I have been away...been dealing with alot in other arenas..
I contacted my State officials....
this is what I sent....
" As a Gun Owner and former member of the military and a Citizen of the
"United States of America"...I find this new "Gun Ban" to be both
"Unconstitutional" and "Illegal"..I Strongly Oppose it. Your Vote is to
Represent "The People of Your State"...So Do So...Do not let this
PASS...no matter what...it is a clear "Violation" of the 2nd Amendment and
the Basis of this Country's "Founding Principals"...Set forth by those
that built and Died for this country through the Generations of
Americans... Dian Feinstein Needs to be removed from office and "Charged"
with Treason for trying to "Subvert" the "Constitution of The United
States of America"..and "Subjugate" the American People to "Her" way of
Living... Vote No...for all Our Sakes.... I will not except "Her way of
Life" "Better to Die a Free Man...than to Live as a Slave"....

Honored to be an American....Are You."

The bitch about it...will have to send it again on the first...our current Senator is done on the 31st....

This bill is such a blatant disregard concerning the 2nd Amendment, and the constitution as a whole, that I doubt it will even make it out of committee. I think there are two valid options as to what is going to happen in the next month or so.

#1: Feinstein's bill doesn't make it out of committee However, Obama promised Gun regulation already which means something needs to be done NOW. I see a bypass of congressional legislation by Presidential Executive Order using points from Feinstein's bill. And if anyone studies Politics, we know that in order to repeal a Exec. Order it takes 2/3's vote in house and senate.

#2: A New bill will be proposed and passed by committee making it to the floor and passing. In order for this to happen, since Republicans hold at-least one majority, it needs to be nothing like Feinstein's bill. I think that this is the 2nd best outcome, the first being nothing happening at all and maybe even de-regulation haha.

Cheers!

You make every good points but man I aint holding my breath, the jack ass in the white house is looking to make his mark and will do so on our backs. I am reminded of remarks made by a fellow shooter at the range not long ago, about the fact that the miliarty never stand for an order from the white house to disarm the people of this country, my response was " have you been on and airplane lately? and see what the tsa is doing to poeple?" You can your ass they can find people to come into your home an treat you like the bad guy, it has all though out history.

Agreed RS. Allowing so much as a foot in the door is no different than a complete surrender. These issues need to be addressed and fought and thinking "this will never happen" will almost always end up turning in to "wait, what???".

The guy in the white house is a slippery one and has an agenda of his own - of this you can be certain, and allowing him to just start flirting with our rights is like allowing an untrained dog to stick "just his nose" near your steak, while assuming he knows better.

They can pass all the laws they want. Will not make any difference. I will never register any of my firearms. I will never pay 200.00 per firearm. I will never submit to background checks as I have a CHL. I will never ask the local cops if it is "OK". I have done everything the law requires of me to date. That's it. No more. If they want my guns then they can have them bullets first. Real Americans are about to turn the corner into history. If and when Confiscation becomes law then so does Civil War. I swore to defend my country against enemies foreign and domestic. In my eyes when that day comes there will no longer be an American government but a COMMUNIST government and I will fight with all deadly force against the new U.S. Communist Government.
I am not going to let the sacrifices of my brothers and sisters who have fought in past wars and conflicts go to waste just because a Lying African does not like America and it's gun owning law abiding citizens. There will be war in America. It is coming.

Hopefully the NRA still has enough political power and the firearms constituents will make enough of an impact with their elected officials that this won't be the cause of a civil war.

You're right that the purpose of the 2nd Amendment was for the citizens to be armed so the government could not be a tyranny to the people. I may be naive but I I don't think Feinstein's proposal will get very far and if it does you can bet it will end up in the Supreme Court.

As much as the government has stripped the rights of its citizens over the years. One thing voters get upset about and make their voice known are guns.
  • A 2011 Gallup poll estimates that 47 percent of US households own a gun.
  • A 2007 Small Arms Survey estimates there are 88.7 guns per 100 Americans (#1 in the world for guns per capita)
  • A 2010 estimate from the NRA states "Privately owned firearms in the U.S.: Approaching 300 million, including nearly 100 million handguns. The number of firearms rises over 4 million annually."
If there are two voters in each household then gun owners would just have to show up on election day! Hopefully this is a wakeup call to voters who do not go to the polls.

Fausty0 I think you covered it pretty well. The only good news is Biden is heading up the panel and he seems to have more common sense than Obama or Feinstein, keep our fingers crossed.
