Probably the absolute worst thing is this part right here. Giving your names, fingerprints and photographs and a list of weapons and serial numbers to a federal agency??? Might as well just put a big billboard in your front yard that says "raid me first, I have what you are after".
*******
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms
Act, to include:
o Background check of owner and any transferee;
o Type and serial number of the firearm;
o Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
o Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that
possession would not violate State or local law; and
o Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
So IF that last bit goes through, we all have a choice to either put ourselves on "the list of people to send the Army too FIRST" when they increase the regs some more later OOOORRRRR - qualifying anyone who does NOT want to be on that list as some kind of subversive enemy of the state so they can again, come and get us at their leisure.
That is absolute insanity. Might as well just bend over and shove our OWN weapons up there so at least we'll have a chance to lube first before the "Homeland Security Weapons Patrols" come over and do it anyway in the middle of the damn night.
Wow. The more I think about that last part, the more and more and more it makes me nervous. They are attempting to set the ground for the big "confiscation scenario" that they will attempt in years to come if this goes through and anyone ELSE goes whacko with a rifle.
As soon as they realize the bans don't work AGAIN, they'll start targeting the people that have them grandfathered. Where else COULD they look? What are they going to do? Ask criminals to register their too? Yea. I've got some pint sized tubs of Genuine Certified Unicorn Poop for sale too...
What possess these people to focus on so called 'military features', and act like this veiled attempt is lost on us, goes beyond the moronic. Then they claim interest in protecting hunting rifles, to get those people on their side, and frighteningly they do. This is however a complete lie. These same people go after calibers, optics, and barrel length, under sniper rifle bans.
Make no mistake, this has ALWAYS been about targeting people. The people with the political, social, and moral ideology that sees fit to stand against these intrusions. The kind of people that want to be armed, self sufficient, self policing, productive members of a free society are the true evil in their eyes. They really don't care about magazine capacities, they just push that button because they know we care.
And our country has stopped slowly moving in the wrong direction and just gone into overdrive. Once they control the weapons, we are all in terrible, terrible trouble.
