Noveske is a low volume high quality type operation. Therefore there will be a wait. Put your order in with minimum due and then focus on the other stuff. Go to 762SASS. They have as good a deal as anyone and I have found stuff cheaper there than the cost right off ArmaLite's site. They have complete lowers, stripped lowers, lower parts kits and lower parts kits minus the trigger.

If you want to go with a collapsible stock that can be changed out anytime. You can actually use an AR15 receiver extension with the AR10 buffer spring and a short heavy buffer made by heavybuffers.com. Any stock that fits on the AR-15 can be put on your AR10. I think there is an exception with the Vltor SOPMOD or something due to changing handle interference but I believe the trimmed the cheek piece and made a specific model for the 10'

Ok Duck. I may be misunderstanding you. It sounds like your claiming to shoot key holes at 1000 yards with your 26"? If by key hole you mean a 1" group or less? THATS .1 MOA! I have to know who built your gun? You could teach us all somthing, Novosk included. My friend you need to be in national matches as I have never heard of a auto feeder printing keyholes at 1000 yards. Just so you know we were talking about hunting. There is a big difference between punching holes in paper, and punching he life out of a dear at range. You mite get the round into the animal but its extended suffering is going to be seen as unethical. You will have to get down range then begin blood tracking it. I do not endorse doing such acts. Most authorities frown on such acts also.

Key hole refers to when the bullet drops below the speed of sound and loses stability. It will begin to tumble and can come through the target sideways, making a hole that resembles a key hole. ;)

Best group and personnal best I have is an 18" group at 1K....with all tewnty rounds. Match winner and perfect score. That was with that 26" Lilja.

Novoske is verry expensive. If you have the cash for a Novo upper, I say get an AR10T, it comes out of the box nicely equipped, and put money in good glass. ArmaLites match trigger is verry good, for all the money you'll put into an aftermarket trigger you will get 5% improvement in performance. If your on a budget you don't want to go splitting hairs. In the field you will have spent a lot of cash for an un noticeable difference.

18" is definitely respectable. Thank you for explaining the keyhole, I am not as up to speed with some terminology as I should be. I take it you agree with me on not trying to hunt at transonic range?

Duck you aint watching whats going on here. Armalite and Knight and other frames will interchange with minor but precise machine work. See Picture. Don't get these guys mixed up here learn your frame matches. Here is a perfect fit with ease.
The 168s aero package is early 1960 tech and the 155 is the new aero design for competition and high BC. The 175 is the mix of the both of them to keep the old style 5R barrels and the newer 3 groove type barrels shooting a common bullet. I look for the 168 to be droped from the line up in one generation of shooters because sales will favor the 175. Remember the 174 match stuff from Lake City MO was the main thing that kelp the M14 in service matches as long as it was. We changed that at AMU 20 years ago because my mouse gun was riping everybody a new one plus we cut the rifle price in half but maintaince went up with the ARs. On these 308s If your hunting a mixed conditions best to go with the 20" with a 10 twist barrel for bullet variety and possible shortages in the future.MSH

With all due respect there mmsshh I believe you're the one who ain't payin attention here. I was replying to the first post, page three, where littleBIGgun was asking if the DPMS upper would fit on the AR10 lower. I never said anything about Noveske uppers. I will go back and edit that post to make it perfectly clear though.

Hey guys. I love all the information, but as a newbie, I'd really like to stick to topic! lol. I don't care about 1,000 yd shots, and keyholes. I care about humanely putting an animal down at a respectable range, and feeling the heart pounding, body shaking experience after the on a beautiful gun I personally built is pulled.

I'm going to build this gun, and that's based upon all the information that you gentlemen are providing me. When I have to read through posts that do not relate to topic, it's wasting all our time.

I wholeheartedly appreciate every key stroke of information, it's helping me tremendously.

Thank you again. Additional info is always welcome.

btw: I found this 762 SASS : ArmaLite AR-10 Complete Lower Receiver Assemblies w/ A2 stock (Black). Would this be a good route for me to go? I'm certainly going to drop in the Timney trigger, but now the decision will be wether or not to piece together my own lower assembly, or go this route? decisions decisions!

Big Gun, I have looked at this. You can buy assembled uppers for about the same price as building it. Do you have the various tools required to assemble uppers? (Barrel wrench, breach blocks, ect?) I have seen guys warp the upper trying to titen the barrel nut. That sed here goes. AR10T upper assembly 998.00, lite barrel A4 upper 786.00. A bare lower receiver is 227.40, parts kit w/o trigger/grip 54.00. Total 1,279.00 add your trigger, grip, stock. These prices are retail, you could beet them by shoping. If you add the price of the upper parts it totals higher than the assembly so go with the pre built upper.
