Kramer was a Miniature Schnauzer that I had for 12 years, and Daisy my Lab of 5 years. When the time came for Kramer I let my wife and kids say their good byes. I gave him a Melatonin and took him outside with the .22. My wife flipped shit. She asked what the hell I was doing, how could I be so cruel? I explained to her growing up in the country that is how we took care of things. He was my pet, my friend, and my responsibility. As Conway would say "that's my job". She walked away and let me have our final moment. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. It didn't get easier the second time.
As far as watching loved ones go, I am blessed to still have my mother and father. I have watch many of my loved ones pass due to cancer, including my wife's father. As being somewhat of a troubled youth I made sure they had the best "medication" money could buy to help ease their pain. In my youth I often wondered why you would hear the stories of old men walking off and putting a bullet in their head. I could never understand it. After seeing what awaits, I get it. I could write more, but I have a lot of work to do and I'm running out of tissue.

That said, my wife knows very well that the only thing keeping her cats alive is my love for her. If she dies before me,the earth won't be over her casket before her 4 cats are in deep doodoo.
