And to think y'all thought you had got rid of me...fooled everyone LOL

Been busy to say the least and tween that and the home remodel I have not had time to do much of anything other than the chores at hand. Yes BuddysBonz has kept us very busy in spite of a few less shows than last year, sales are way up and as a result its more work to be done and we do manufacturer our products and have about 24 end items.

Then there was the TREE:

The tree is how we went to bed at night. Place left foot in Y, grab with left hand and lift, step over to roof with right foot, walk across to other roof, up and over the deck on top the house, then down a flight of stairs into the upstairs master bedroom, go to bed.

First floor is GUTTED! How gutted you ask?

Yes the old 1945 ranch house built on a slab which was painted (guess they did not have much money), then was covered in linoleum (found some money) covered in tile (found more money) covered in tile again (found even more money) had to be stripped to the bare concrete. Filled and level, epoxied (twice), stained, then sealed (twice). Contractor screwed up (twice) and the 2 week job took almost 3 months, so we...

Then stripped out the house, to the walls and even some of them went too. Here I am with John Deere and trailer removing household goods to the barn...,

Laundry room, stripped bare

27 Foot, 200 year old Hickory beam, put where once was a supporting wall.

Beam weighed just over 700 lbs and me and one other guy put it in. While I was at it I vaulted the ceiling in the dinning room and kitchen.

We combined 3 rooms into one: Dinning, Office and kitchen, all new electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, floor and am now building a new master bath next to the living room which is going to become the new master bedroom downstairs, old master becomes guest room and old guest bdrm becomes wife closet...hope to have it done by summer.

Yesterday I did this:

We have gray (washing machine) water going to and underground ditch, added a laundry sink for the wife and since we are still living out of the laundry room, a one burner hot plate, fridge is outside on the patio and she now used the laundry sink to do dishes etc. So my laundry water started seeping across our road. Got the old JD and backhoe and dug the ditch deeper and longer...

Yep, staying BUSY...but now that I have more access to my computer I will be back...

Yes its been something else. On top of all that I pour a slab in front of the house to build another room on and because the floor folks took so long right at 3 mo it pushed all my contractors back till after the new year.

Here is the finished floor, note the stairs to the master bdrm upstairs, hence we had to use the tree. The vertical beam in the center left is from an old hunting cabin on property that had a cedar beam under it 24 feet long. I gut it into 3 pieces and its used to support the old hickory beam I put in. The vertical to the right is to be the corner of the larder for food, I am standing in the kitchen area taking this shot.

:usa: Good to see you back Sir! Love the "tree house" idea, just like it was planned that way.
Are you catching much flak about getting the remodel done for Christmas?Looks like you might have a a little touch up left
Hope you still found the time to sling some lead. My barrels are are cooled down due to being in taxachusetts but I'm going to be back in Iowa and banging some steel this weekend :woohoo:
Take care and work safe!

We knew it was going to be long and challenging, but we prepared for it. Spent the first 4 here working on the outside of the place, building a barn, new roof on the house and covered the house in roofing grade corrugated metal.

Have not picked up a gun at all, just not time. Did buy the wife a Savage Trophy Hunter XP in .243, stainless with Nikon BDC 2x9 scope for Xmas. Factory rebate of $75 so my total cost is just a hair under $500, incredible deal.

As you can imagine everything is on hold that can be put on hold. Speaking of Iowa and travel we WILL be at NRA in April in Nashville Ky, think about getting down that way, coffee is on me...

I am scheduled to be starting a job in Iowa at the end of March so I'm sure I'll be short of time all the way through April getting the project started on the right track. It'll be different being home every weekend though, might be years before I get that opportunity again with this job so I'll be sticking close to home.
Our agency is reorganizing in the near future so my experience with the TexDOT may just get me an assignment in your "neighborhood". I liked working in Texas over the winter

Politics is already picking up the pace for 2016 so you should have an interesting convention, tell'em like it is :cowboy:

Very good to see You too O~L Cowboy.
Say, that JD tractor/backhoe/loader You have is a mighty handy rig.
My eldest boychild went and bought one of those. A very professional performing machine indeed.

What did You put down on that floor, the reflections of the windows almost makes it look like windows above the windows, or, below, I ca`nt tell. :rotfl:
