I had an A.R.M.S. forend on an AR-15 once upon a time. I liked it and it stayed cool to the touch, even after a 300-350 round in 20 or so minute match that I was in. Everyone elses quad forends got hot and they had to wear gloves. I didn't.
That being said, the Daniel Defense forend is really nice. They make good stuff!
I remember some people complained about how wide the A.R.M.S. forend is. Don't know if they've made it skinnier or not. I haven't seen one for a while. Seems like the round tubes with holes all over to mount rails are the Gucci fashion right now......
Thanks for the feedback. A.R.M.S advised me last week they no longer make a S.I.R system rail for the AR-10. So the search goes on for awhile. I must admit the A.R.M.S products in the past I've used have been excellent.
Those PRI Carbon Fiber look good. Extremely strong and lightweight. All the rage in the Sportbiking world, and for the same reasons!
