Not to familiar with them...but there are a couple of others out there...as much as I got a beef with LaRue...they make a "Kick Arss" FF handguard for the AR-10...I will see what I can dig up... ;)

BMS, Thank you! I will take a good look at the LaRue also. Not getting any response from A.R.M.S. customer service, not very impressive. Daniel Defense has given me better service in the past. JS

I purchasd a Daniels Defense free float quadrail when i built my AR10A4C and i'm very happy with it. It set me back 330.00 bucks but i'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. My local gunsmith had it machined on in a day for a fee of 30 dollars. It's also made with pride in Savannah GA U.S.A. I could tell a big difference in the weapons firmness compared to the factory 2 piece handguard. With a 4-16x50 scope it's allowing my to place 5 shots within a 4cm group. Hope this info helps.

Thank you for your response! I also believe in quality, and it does come at a price. It would appear your approx. 1 1/2 inch groups are better than your Armalite carbine's factory ratings of 2 to 2 1/2 MOA for that rifle. What range was that achieved at, and what brand scope? Weight gain, balance?

I'm now leaning toward Daniel Denfense. They have promptly responded to my e-mails, and give a 10% discount for prior service, LE/military. It will also mate to my flatop receiver for one long continuous rail, the A.R.M.S does not, and their AR-10 53M SIR system has been discontinued.

I hope to group between 1" and 1 1/2" when project is complete. Next big debate,
scope and scope mount/base. Best regards SAPPER772, JS.

First of all thank you for your service, i'm also prior military. I was shooting at 100 meters using a Osprey Optics scope. I would love to spend 1800.00 on U.S. Optics glass but the wife would just not see the justification it that. The scope sits on a one piece 20 MOA base. I also have a flat to reciever and it matches the factory rail perfect. The top rail sit's about half inch higher then my picatinny gas block. The rail definately adds a little weight to the rifle but along with my other accessories it's not a big concern to me. The balance is perfect, I use a GG&G bipod and it makes for a comfortable and fun day at the range. I live in South Flordia so i'm not privaliged to long distance shooting too often. 200 meters is the most I can reach but the rifle is spot on at that. I was very impressed with the quality of the rail as well. It is machined out of one piece extruded aluminum and comes with 4 rail covers. I'm assuming you have a 9.0 rail on yours like I do. The part # is DD-3002. I ordered mine from JTAC Supply. Feel free to give me any feedback or questions I'll be glad to help you out.

Colt AR-15, Gov. Carbine for CQ work. I went with 20" full rifle Armalite. I may have only gained additional weight, and some muzzle velocity. Accuracy should also be a minor plus over 16" barrel, maybe! So I will need 12" rifle length version, around 340.00 after discount.

I agree on US Optics, NightForce, hard to justify the expense! May boil down to
a local built Leupold, and I've been impressed with Zeiss optics quality.

Stay safe and enjoy that rifle! JS

Look at the SWS hand guards for your AR10, best you can buy IMHO.

$1800-2000 is hard to part with for a Nightforce but I have used one for longer range shooting and I'm spoiled now, saving my pennies for one.

I've taken a look at them and they seem like something i'll be willing to try. I'm saving for a ar15 for cqb gauged in 6.8 and i'll give it a try. I heared alot of great things about the nightfore and i'm sure it will be worth every penny.
