I will try to answer the best I can, with a suggestion as well...
The other AR-10s use a 4149 steel chrome lined, double, for life...where as the T and the SASS use a higher grade of steel, the AISI 416R Stainless Steel Match..with a triple lap...it is all in the steel...
Stainless steel is more dense and thicker than the standard barrels..hence the higher cost...There is a thread floating around here about the difference between the two...not sure what category it is in....but I will look for it..when I have some time.....it wasn't to long back...but in the mean time....if you are going to do all that to a T....why not look at the SUPPER SASS....it already has all you are requesting...
"Barrel: 20" Triple lapped, Ceramic Coated AISI 416R Stainless Steel Match, Threaded 5/8x24"
So by the time you get a "GOOD GUN SMITH" to do the work...you would have paid for the SASS and been on your way....this is just my personal opinion and really doesn't mean much...but think about it..
You could probably get ArmaLite to build you the rifle, to a point, that you are looking for...Ask them..
hope this was of some help....

Just got my 1st AR10...DPMS AP4...LOVE IT!!! THe iron sights right out of the box are good. Still debating on Red Dot or Scope. I bought it to kill some Hogs in Texas!

Congratulations on rifle purchase and welcome to AR10T
Also check out Bear Basin Outfitters for Nightforce Scopes. I bought my Nightforce 1-4 there and they have great prices, customer service and always have stuff in stock.
I do not know if you bought your rifle yet but, I bought an ar10 and a DPMS lr308. They both shoot great but, I like the ar10 better so much that I have an armalite AR10 gunsmith kit waiting on some money to finish it.

Have you looked at LaRue's 308? If I had to do it all over again I would give this very serious consideration. I have a Armalite. My best friends uncle was Eugene Stoner, no longer alive. I looked at LMT's 308, but liked the Armalite better. Only downside to Armalite is you have to use their magazines. I wish Magpul could work out a deal with Armalite so we could have a choise.
