All right, M15 dudes, I'm convinced. I'll probably go with an Armalite. Just need to get my funds topped off; may have to sell some other shootin' irons. I'm leaning toward one of the stainless barrelled target / varmint guns with a fixed stock. Anyone have suggestions for a great scope? Mostly the rifle will be used in informal target practice, maybe some varminting, and maybe some 3 gun matches. I'm even thinking of adding a Burris Speed Dot along with the scope just for the "run and gun" games. But back to scopes. I want a variable, and I don't want too many bells and whistles, ie, no ballistic dials, no mildots, no lighted reticles, etc. Just a scope with a dual-X type reticle, maybe 2x7 or 3x9. I can't afford Swarovski, but don't want the cheapest glass on the market. Maybe Leuopold, Burris, Nikon, or similar. I'll probably go with the Burris or Amalite AR15 flattop mount.
Well Hank...price is going to be the factor...alot of companies are making scopes set up for the .223...such as the Mark AR and Nikon now has one as well...another you might look at is the Elite Tactical from Bushnell...I hear some of them are good...but for hunting and targets...might think about a Shepard Scope too...I got to play with one...Really neat reticle...
I guess it depends what you want...so many to choose from.
BMS
Guess I never posted a pic of mine...it's set up more for CQB...but I have a POS scope...am hoping to get a bigger one for my 10 and put the Mark 2 on this...
