Thanks for the unfortunate update....someone else on ar15.com. Got the Armalite reps responding. It just seems the more I look the more bad stories I hear. Did they tell u what was wrong with barrels? Very strange for 2 rifles in a row. What is different about the NM barrels? Not very encouraged to buy one for myself

I was told was that the barrels would be examined for their own info as to what went wrong. The thing that worries me the most is that it's not just bad barrels, but bad receiver/receivers.

I think the only difference is the twist. It's 1 in 10" compared to 1 in 11.25" and is also black and is threaded.

The only good thing I can say about my armalite experience so far is that they have been 100% reliable, I can't hit a barn with either one but they have not jammed mis fed etc in the process.

I find it hard to believe that Armalite is checking for quality control with the lack of accuracy you have described on the two different rifles.Armalite doesn't care how or why the problem exist they are only interested in finding someone else to blame. We all know that Armalite's rifles are not cheap and if this is the products they are going to try to sell they will not be around much longer.I can build a sling shot in one hour that has better groupings than what you are getting. You can buy a gun at Walmart that will out shoot the A-10's and that is ridiculous!I think Armalite is trying to compete with the Daisy Red Rider (bb-gun)and it sounds like the Daisy will win.

:S After my 'T' rifle did'nt shoot well, I went to the Bench Rest route to remove any variables. What I found out is that I should make a completely new upper, and now I'm waiting for the parts, and custom reamers. The barrels are from Schnieder one in 1x10 5P, and the other 1x11 5P. Include laping in the lugs, and squaring the reciever face should really help.

I'm new to this forum, however My AR102AC bought in May of '08 came out of the book "dead nuts" with the iron sites. Still true to this day. Although I'm using the 16" barrel and the T uses the longer one, My suggestion is go back to factory spec. reset your optics, standarize your ammo and standardize your shooting method, then go from there. Once dialed in, then start playing with your reloads. By minimizing your varables, it may be easier to find the problem. As my father always said, if your not shooting well-- It's usually the jerk at the end of the trigger.

Hope you work it out.

 That's all nice in therory, But when you have an AR10T with the facory scope mount, and a 6x18 Sheppard scope that shoots all over the map, and every thing is tight. Compared to a $500 Remington M700 with a 3x9 scope that will shoot a 25 cent coin size group at 200 yds with the same ammo. IT'S THE RIFLE!!!

Don't want to stir the pot, but not all guns can shoot the same bullets, cases, powder, seating depth, with the same accuracy. Not even the exact same rifle made by the same manufacturer. You can start with the factory specs, but that's only your basis for the loads, not necessarily what you should be shooting for to be the end result.

On a better note, who's ready for hunting season?!?! Deer season opens tomorrow for me! I'm excited because I have to leave the country til the middle to end of December so I'm going to miss most of the season so I'm only going to get a few days to hunt.

couldn't agree more. However the manufacturer provides an accuracy guarantee, states reloaded ammo voids warranty, and uses Federal match 168gr for their testing. Neither me nor the manufacturer are able to make it shoot to 1 moa under these conditions.

Remember I'm only trying for 1 moa at 100 yds. thats their guarantee and seems very reasonable based on others results with these guns. When I get my rifle to shoot like this under the guaranteed conditions, then yes I'll move onto reloads to try to squeeze the last bit of accuracy from it. But for now the factory and I are both working the premise that both guns are defective in some sort and the factory is working to fix it.

Good News (sarcasm) I just called armalite and was told they are still waiting on barrels and would be at least another month.

I don't know what to do. If this holds true they will have had my rifles for 3 months this time and 2 months the last time. This means that in October when I get them back armalite will have had my rifles for 5 out of the 10 months I've owned them.

Do I have any recourse? I'd love my money back (never going to happen), I'd like two new rifles that shoot (highly unlikely).

I was told that Chris Schwarzkopf sp? would call me thurs or friday to discuss my problem. any advice on what I should say or do?
