Thinking of purchasing a AR10T (A10TBNF)

So, as the title says I am thinking of buying an AR10T (A10TBNF). I have been around the AR seen for a long time and love my 5.56 carbines and rifles, but now I want something to shoot a bit further. I have my bolt guns and I am not expecting the same sort of accuracy from a semi-auto, but I am curious to what real world accuracy people are seeing from these rifles. I also do my own loading, so finding a recipe that will work well can be done.

those of you that have this particular model, are you happy with it? Just looking for feedback so i don't end up with something I wont be happy with.

Thanks

Steve

Welcome Swebb, glad to have you on the forum. I have the AT10 T carbine with the 16 inch barrel and the AR10BNF, the standard rifle, so not exactly the same as what you are getting but I think the accuracy will surprise you. Check out some of the targets posted in older posts, you will be surprised.

Thanks for the reply!

I will check them out. I plan on putting a leupold mark 4 6.5-20 on it. I would like to shoot steel plates out to 1000 yards with it. Hoping it won't disappoint.

Understand that will be fun. Just understand that 1000 yards is just about the limit for the .308 cartridge. It is doable, but don't expect it to compete with a bolt gun in say, 300 WM, or 338 LaPua at those ranges. 5-800 yards? No problemo.

Swebb that's a great goal. Any thing we can do to assist, just ask.

My AR-10 is a standard B model but I used a M-15TB upper on a recent build and have been very happy, it easily out shoots my ability.
I can't imagine you would regret the purchase :usa:

600 to 900 is where I want this rifle to shine. Most of the shooting will be 700-800 with an occasional stretch to 1000 yards. By no means am I expecting this thing to perform like my bolt guns, but hopefully it will be similar to my 5.56 ARs just capable of more distance.

Armalite claims 1 MOA accuracy with that model, and my experience is that their specifications are somewhat conservative (I own three of their rifles in two models).

I don't know if 1 MOA will satisfy your requirements, but I am confident that the 10TBNF will deliver to that specification.
