But.. In the end this is just another challenging set of life choices... And I feel confident I will come to a good decision.....
I know this is a bit windy... Yet it gives me pleasure to make this post....
How much lighter are the OZs?
I've been running a KTM 950 ADV for a few years now and have avoided the RC8 test ride for fears of then needing to sell a bunch of guns to buy another bike.....! Here's a sweet Katoom from the Indy GP a few years back...

Ya... Guns and bikes like milk and cookies.... We are so blessed... So many people have know idea.... It's saddens me...
This is off their site... "New MSicA aluminium alloy used with a special treatment in the alloy (DTI, double treatment inside), allows for an incredible reduction in inertia and weight vs. competitors. 35% Mass Reduction compared to OEM wheels, 15% Mass Reduction compared to leading aftermarket forged wheels. A weight savings of 2.5 - 3.5 lbs per set over the leading aftermarket wheels."
They are really good... Lighter than my OZ magnesium wheels of five years ago.... My rc8 is the fastest pointing liter bike I've ridden.. It points a quick as my buddies RSV4 factory which has forged wheels... He actually likes my rc8 better... More comfortable.... I have a well set up 09 R1 that would benefit from them more....
The Adventure is a very cool bike..... I still have an moderately hotroded 89 Beemer gs that I lived on for 12 years..... If you live out west... And only have one bike.. a well set up duel sport bike rules.... Down the road I want a good used 990smt with bags for a mountain touring bike.....
For the time being im taking care of my dad.....and that's a 7/24 deal... I don't get to leave the house much... Rarely get to shoot or ride.... I have couple of my bikes in the garage so I can work on them at home and I'm going to un pack my reloading gear.... Waiting for prices to get more normal for components....
That KTM race bike is nice... I am surprised that they have wire wheels mounted... Would like to know more about that....

I may pick up some new wheels some day, but up here our riding season is only five good months of the year. And those months I am out in a boat on big water a lot. Only so much time to spend with so many toys. My son will be headed off to college the end of August, and I am excited for him, but there goes my shooting buddy.magi wrote:

Until then getting a second upper is not a bad idea, especially if you don't have a son like me who has his eyes on my new goodies, since I would have to have two, one for him and one for me.
Man.... I'm not going to quit riding..... I will fall down and cry like a baby the day I have to give it up.... Most motorcycle people are gun people too..... Only three of the boys I ride with aren't ...... The ones I broke out can out ride me at the track.... But I can out shoot them all......
I have a boy I took in about nine years ago... He was in a tough place at the time.... But he's more of a egghead and academic..... Not really into guns or bikes... He is in college doing really well.... He is a gift from god... The best thing that happened to me in that period of my life..... I'm really proud of him..... He has gone so far from where he started.......
I gave him my cherry #1 Rutger in 06.... But we were so poor in that period of time I only had a chance to take him out to use it a couple of times....

I'd like to pick up a good sport bike again so I have something to ride with guys, but right now I'm saving my caps to finish this higher education bs.
