I did not bring this up, but in my two times to send my weapon back to AR, its was test fired both times. Not positive anything I had done would require a test fire IMO: They replaced a screw due a new stock being put on the gun and replaced the pin on the bolt cover due to putting on the free float handguard.BUILDING MY SASS wrote: Yes Welcome to the site...sorry about not doing so earlier...I was concerned with the issue...
I did some checking against one of my Hornady Tap... 168grn
OAL...2.802
and from the Face of the head to the top of the shoulder ... 1.713 (roughly)
I don't have a HSG.... but checking my round with my calipers...there is possibly something wrong with your ammo if you are getting the 2.785
Here is a diagram of the .308...I would double check your ammo...
Not saying there may not be a problem with the rifle...as rule of thumb...check all ammo...

Which gauges were used in the checking of the head space? (there is only one correct answer)
What AR-10 rifle is this?
Are these factory loaded rounds or are they reloads?
Has this happened with other ammunition?
