Already done. I have confirmed with Armalite that his order # included all the right part #s. My concern is whether or not somebody accidentally grabbed the wrong tube to send him.

I hate to admit it, but it does happen in any business...Mistakes can be made...to err is human...but that does not help your issue...
Not to sure what to advise you on...given you are the Third Party makes it a tough call...You may just have to order the right parts and sell the other ones...You will have to see what ArmaLite has to say...
One thing though for you and the seller...I can't believe he didn't test out the new parts before selling it...If he knew of the issue..then he is at Fault...

Yeah, this is not the sort of thing that just crops up over time. I do not see how he didn't know before hand.
On the bright side, the seller creating this problem lead to him letting go of a rifle everyone is standing in line to get their hands on. It is a simple enough fix, and you still come out on top under the current insanity.

Hey everyone, sorry for my horrible delay in responding. Yes it appears the wrong part was sent out by Armalite. I say 'appears' because I don't want to pass judgement on Armalite completely, because its not 100% clear whether the guy selling me the rifle used the parts that Armalite sent. However, Armalite has been really helpful in helping me identify the problem, and they have sent me an RMA form to get things rolling on the return. I have decided to just revisit the seller and have him swap the stock back to the factory long stock and let him deal with the RMA of the 'incorrect' buffer tube.
A little advice for anyone that needs Armalite assistance right now; EMAIL. They are too busy to answer the phone, and they are super slow at calling back (although they DO call back). Email is the quickest response you can get from them. I have resolved almost all of my inquiries with them via email. They are great considering the volume of activity they are dealing with right now. Many thanks to all you guys as well for offering guidance!

I think that's for the best. The rifle is more valuable in its factory configuration too.
Stocks swapped. Problem resolved. The dealer will go back to Armalite himself and deal with the incorrect tube situation. Thanks for all the help everyone.
I love being part of a forum where problems actually get solved like this. Although I may not have been the guy to DO it, it's a pleasure to be a member among such knowledgeable and concerned guys.
