I talked to Rick this morning from Failzero and he was very pleasant to speak with. I'm looking for simplicity with this and being that pops doesn't put a lot of effort into cleaning stuff or taking care of things (largely because of his age) I want something that will hold up and provide trouble free service. I'm likely going to be the one cleaning this thing every so often and I'd like it to be as corrosive resistant and easy as possible. This is a recreational hunting rifle, once in a while practice/target rifle. I'm thinking this thing will likely on have "maybe" 200 rds put through it in the next 10-15 years....maybe.
If frog lube is junk then what should I be using as a general oil/lubricant?
As always, thanks for the posts and feedbackn fellas!
What oil to use.........that is like asking what underwear I think should wear.
Many options and carried opinions. Typical engine oil is gaining in popularity.
What works for me? Really depends on the weapon, but for an AR,

Many good choices or combo's here, and lots of personal preference. That Search button on the top tool bar will get ya some more opinions
I received the BCG back from Failzero in a timely manner and it looks nice. It has a dull grey look, but the coating appears very even and everything was coated in the BCG. I'd like to get this to have that high polish look. Anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this? I figured after the coating they all were polished, but these don't get that high shine look. Thanks for any input on how to do this.

To be honest, were it my gun, I would NOT polish it. You must remember that NiBor is only a coating. Its my bet $ that those out there that are polished from the OEM have a THICKER coating. If its not polished then don't, the coating is not as thick.
