Sounds nice Sisco. Nice to see your boy is back to do some hunting with you. It is just the best to do stuff with my boys.

I have been sitting here watching the video I made of my 10yo and I when he was shooting my AR10 for the first time. He had 2 touching the X in the head "5X" which is dead center on his very first time firing it. A couple missed the paper completely but once he got over the shock of it, he was right in the killzone for the rest of a 20 round mag. 18 hits all either in the chest area or head. A few were REALLY nice but since he was so nervous, we couldn't really work on a group and I was just happy to see him having such a good time shooting.

Got us on video high 5'ing and him all happy that he was doing so well.

It's a pride you can find no where else.

Enjoy Sisco...

You aren't kidding froze my tail off this morning. The news said its the coldest opening day in 20 years.

Saw a couple does this morning and a buck not to sure how big I couldn't get a shot. Just got back up in the tree now loaded up on hand warmers hoping for the best.

Best of luck!

I saw some of the piebalds again twice last week. Apparently all of the people that live in the area where they seem to thrive, WILL allow guys to hunt out there but they have ALL agreed that if ANY hunters shoot any of the piebalds, it will be off limits to everyone permanently and they make that VERY clear to all that hunt there.

I was real happy to hear that. There are several of them right in that one area and in all my life, it's the only actual GROUP of piebald deer I've ever seen.

It's so cool cuz if you didn't know what they were, you'd swear there were just a bunch of skinny cows out there grazing...

I've got NO problem with guys hunting at all and have done it myself but those are some incredibly rare deer in RI so I'm glad to see the land-owners in the area taking it upon themselves to see they are protected...

Went out again at 2 and still hunted for a while, then went to. My #1 stand. Did not hear a shot all day. At 4 pm a four pointer showed up. Walked within 50 feet of my stand. As I will only be hunting today and tomorrow decided to bag him. Nothing worth posting a picture about, but I have venison for the year. My son decided not to go out this afternoon, or else he would have gotten it.

By the way Shark, Wisconsin has well over a million whitetail deer. But I agree about the piebald.
My ATV battery died so I had to drag this one out of the woods the old style way. Glad I have been working out.

Congrats Siscowet! We had a pretty good day today...ok...well we had the best opening day ever as a group not so much for me. My Dad got a 10 pointer, nothing huge huge but a really nice deer. He shot it while I was trying to get a buck in my scope... I shouldn't have shot but I tried to force one through the brush...well you can guess how that turned out  the my brother popped a 9 pointer with a cool crooked horn and the doe he was with didn't run (actually went back to looking for acorns) so he popped her too.

I did hit one with a bullet though and a hot pack... right when I was going to get down yesterday morning 2 yearlings came over by me and bedded down 15 yards away. I was already fozen so I tried to hit one with a hot pack and did but she didn't care so I threw another one and missed. I coughed waved stood up sat down and she didn't care. So I grabbed a spare round and chucked it at her and hit her in the ass! Then she eecided to leave.

I got video of me throwing the second hot pack at her ill post it later and pics of the meat pole! Hopefully with one more buck on it...

Congrats to your Dad and brother! And I want to see a picture of a yearling with a hand warmer up her b__t! The registration station I went to had only had 20 deer registered as of 5pm! Saw one nice buck there. Our late spring blizzards and the bear/coyote/wolf predation has really affected the deer population. Like to see that meat pole.
