You know I thought about not saying anything, but I just couldn't leave it laying there. It was just too easy.

Well they are OD Green and US Army Issue Combat Boot socks. Certainly was not gonna wear HOSE!

But it was good enough to be one of the 12 pictures of the year 2012

If I may break the mood for just a moment, there's something I'd like to say.

I was almost afraid to open this thread.

I've seen similar stuff come up on other gun forums and it usually turns out bad.

I'm not going to out anyone, but there are at least three people near and dear to my heart who are transsexuals. I've seen what they've gone through and it's about as far from "easy" as anything can be.

What I'm getting at is that in three pages of comments, I've yet to find a disparaging word. You're a stand up group of guys and I'm glad to know you.

...even if you do look horrible in drag. ;)

Then again, I'm not sure it's actually possible to look good in drag.

Anyway, thanks for listening. :)

Its really about 'why should I care'. Not to be crass but the reality is that its there choice and to the best of my knowledge it does not affect me or others. There is no shortage of unholy relationships. I am sure had you met me Christmas of my senior year in HS when I got my new Corvette, there would be little doubt in your mind I was truly in love.

We all have our own thing, no one has to agree, they just do not need to interfere.

And no, don't anyone think I was some spoiled rich kid who daddy bought him a Corvette. I bought it on my own, starting saving my money when I was 10 yrs old, put down enough on it that my payment was $47 mo for 3 years. Dad did have to co sign for me.

Don't you wish you still had it? To me something about the Corvette Sting Ray is timeless beauty. That and the Jaguar XKE were my dream cars when I was paying my way through college. The Jaguar was a mechanical bag of bolts compared to the Corvette, but the two of them just looked fast sitting still. The 1967 427 cu in Vette is still the highest in demand collector car in this country. Nice wheels Cowboy.

Lizzie, there is not a lot of meaness in this forum, thank goodness. Personally I really don't think we as individuals have a lot of control over that part of our lives. And freedom includes letting people be free to be what they are as long as they are not injurious to others and society as a whole. Every time I get too judgemental about others it gets thrown into my face. So I refrain from judging people...until they tick me off for judging me. Compared to me in drag, Cowboy looks like Linda Evans. Ever see a nose tackle in drag? It is not a pretty sight.

Thanks...While I was truly in love with my first car the reality is that its just inanimate object...that said I fully believe some cars do have a soul and respond to be taken care of. Would love to have it back, but not because its valuable today but because it was my first car.

My running buddy had a Jag XKE. Not long after he bought it (brand new) he took a trip up to Hot Springs Ark. The car laid down somewhere on the way. In spite of being only a few months old and in warranty of course he is sitting on the side of the road with a broken electric fuel pump. He had to pay for the Jag to be towed back to DALLAS, Tx the nearest Jag dealer. By the time the car ran out of warrant 12k/12mo he ditched it, nothing but problems.

My next car would be the one I want back because it was valuable: '67 Corvette L-88. Sadly it got wrecked BAD with only 536 miles on it. I bought it back from the Ins company for $500, then sold the engine for $500 and stripped the car and put the parts on my 64. I have owned a lot of them over the years, being single for 25 years has its advantages. My fav was my Z06.

Museum Deleivery at the factory in Bowling Green Kentucky, then drove it back to Miami. (I wrote a trip report on it if you have an interest in reading it I will send it too you)
