I would be. GM had the L88 listed at 425 hp because upper management was afraid the Government and insurers would freak if they knew it as actually in well in excess of 500, closer to 600 hp. I remember reading the specs compared to the standard Porcupine head 427, and asking myself, how can they be the same horsepower?
Definitely one of Chevy's all time classic engines.
