Here are some examples of expansion from different brands;
The Barnes bullet has some nice "petals" on it. There are a few brands of the No-lead bullets that look good in the pictures but reviews are all over the place.
Now if they could design a bullet that would only have two petals that just got wider instead of roll to the sides of the bullet. That would be really cool.
I would install the Noveske gas block switch and turn it off the gas cycling for under loaded ammo. One-shot one-kill ... and use the suppressor for hearing protection (if it is legal in your state).
My brother just bought a .300 Blackout that I'm interested in seeing if it would be good for deer.
As a kid I experimented on bullets a lot, cutting grooves in them, filling them with odd stuff, all sorts of unsafe things. Now the manufactures do a good job of supplying "new" ideas to play with, and...... it is much safer!
Check out the federal Guard Dog ammo, I bet a couple cuts with a dremel would get close to what your looking for :pinch: but don't do that.
You should draw something up and get a patent, if it works or not the marketing alone should make bank. :usa:
