Talkin to some of my friends in Texas politics...they are discussing plans for our OWN currency, maybe pegged to the price of oil(?????), their feeling is the US currency may collapse and Texas is one of the few states that not only enough economy to be a world player, we are a net exporter of goods and services, we are the 2nd most populated state in the US.
I'm just a couple hours north of Ole Cowboy in Temple and can attest to the land of opportunity. Tertiary care hospital (workplace violence victims at Fort Hood were evacuated to Scott and White), medical school/pharmacy school (Texas A&M), and a biotech research center going in.
Bell County is reported to have among the highest per capita gun ownership in the state. Don't see many reports of home invasions here.
you guys are making it sound pretty good. I'm past needing a job, but after going out in 20 degree weather with a 30 mph wind to throw logs into the wood boiler at 6 am this morning, I could see escaping down there for about four months a year. One question, there's no season on Snowbirds, is there?
