Some shooters have had success with the factory national match trigger installed by Armalite and others report it getting very loose after 100 or so shots.
A very popular after market trigger is the KAC 2-stage trigger. Jewell is known for having the best triggers but they do not make a version for the AR-10. There are several other options out there like Timney Trigger (
www.timneytrigger.com
) or Williams Triggers (
www.williamstriggerspecialties.com
) but hopefully one of the other forum members can help with your search.
You can use an AR-15 trigger in an AR-10 if you upgrade the spring. If you have access to a gunsmith who can do this for you then you should consider using a Jewell Trigger with stiffer springs.
I posed the same question before and the best answer I received was to buy Geissele. That's what I have in my carbine and it works very well. I previously had it in a AR15 lower with a dedicated .22LR upper and it performed great in that role as well. That said, I will probably buy the NM AR10 trigger for my second build.
I thought I would get you started in the correct thread with your AR-10 trigger! A very knowledgeable Gun Smith (MSH) referred me to this site
www.jardinc.com/index.php?option=com_con...ingle-stage&Itemid=6
, they only list single triggers, but maybe they can shed some light on your issue. In my research for practical shooting a two stage was not any benefit.
Jard has the best single stage trigger and Geissele has the 2 stage market hands down. I think getting a 4lb in the Jard is best because of the tendancy of people to bump fire them.MSH
The Geissele trigger was suggested to me by mmsshh and after some searching I finally found that Brownells carries them in stock.
I am leaning more towards the DMR as I think that it would have about the same feel as Mine M1A1 Loaded.I like that setup.
Thought I would toss this one out for some thoughts and suggestions.
Those where suggested to me as well when I was toying with the idea, but I will quote from a few magazines and also some tactical sources,, Match parts have no place in a combat weapon, that is if you are building one....
Meaning no offense, but if you are building it to be a defensive weapon, KEEP IT SIMPLE.
Again just my opinion....

The time from when I start pulling on the trigger is soooo long that it makes it stressful to shoot the AR10.The trigger on My M1A1 is the two stage trigger and it is a joy to shoot, squeeze, stop, touch and it is very predictable when firing.
The only problem that I have encountered with the M1A1 setup is a couple of times I have touched the trigger a bit too light and it has done a double fire which is`nt a problem to Me as both bullets will hit the paper with the holes touching.
Now I`m trying to figure out how I can do a lite squeeze and keep it cycling like in full auto mode.LOL
Called My local firearms dealer{Ace Hardware} and Bob said he could get only one brand of triggers through His dealers so I callled Brownells and got the Geissele DMR coming and DANG,It aint here yet.LOL
Don't let the M1A do the light squeeze double it will wreck you gun. And that goes for the ARs also. With out an auto sear they will crash. Done fixed to many of them. I know how to do it but its hard on them. Dad showed me how that worked on grands and Johnson rifles. The Japs never got the hang of a Johnson rifle with that 10 round mag. They would shoot 8 rounds and the Japs would come running and you had 2 rounds left. There is no mods to even do to to them to keeping them running. But hear this clear it will wreck an M1.MSH
