After waiting months for just a few parts, it was exciting even to have a few parts arrive..

A good portion of this build uses JP Enterprises parts as shown in the parts list I initially noted. The hand guard is back ordered but it is expected in soon.

Barrel

JP Supermatch barrels are for optimal fit with their components. These barrels are turned from the finest 416R stainless steel and then lead-lapped, button rifled using state-of-the-art equipment and air-gauged to ensure minimal bore diameter run out for peak accuracy. JP also make a point of cryogenically treating all of their Supermatch barrels for cold bore shot predictability, minimum thermal drift, outstanding accuracy and extended barrel life.

As an option, I elected to have the barrel black Teflon finished as I feel it lends to the overall look of the rifle.

An additional note: All JP Supermatch barrels come with an individually head-spaced JP Enhanced-Bolt.

JP .308 Low Mass Stainless Carrier

The bolt carrier is almost difficult to describe, it's just that impressive, almost a piece of art...

What I was surprised to find the following items were not included

Firing pin
Cam pin
Firing pin retainer
Muzzle brake crush washer

I was sort of surprised that these miniscule items were not included as part of the package especially for the amount I'm spending...

I will take some photos once I get everything home.....

Allows for a cleaner and easier install. You can also remove the devices clean the carbon and reinstall. With a crush washer, you would have replace every time.

Thanks Marty!

Building this AR-10 has turned into very drawn out exercise. Finding the parts I want is like finding a needle in a haystack. My dealer has had the Mega Arms upper and lower set on order for 3 weeks now. Yesterday Mega called him saying' "due to higher demand the lead-time on these items could be as long as 6 months"....  :banghead:

On a positive note, I gave a call to Rainier Arms and they have them in stock. I placed the order and a set shipped yesterday. Now as long as the shipment isn't highjacked or attacked by aliens, I should have these in about a week....

Please pray....

The parts are coming in "Fast & Furious" which is a good thing!

Yesterday I made up a vise block and fitted it to the Mega lower, which will fit any AR-10 magazine well, so a few photos to wet your appetite...Naturally more to come!
