Have an opp. to snag a 10A4F for good deal-is this a platform to build on in the future? IE, can I put a higher quality barrel on it in the near future, or say a complete T upper?
Pardon my ignorance here, I wanted to keep it simple with a T and that aint gonna happen, so I need to find a good building platform for future works. Also, I've got a parts kit and magazines I bought for the 10T-will they run in an A4F?

Lost the paper work...
that sucks but things do happen unfortunately.. :pinch:
As to your questions...the A4 is a good rifle...accurate and dependable..so you may find you won't upgrade at all...
but if so...yes you can change out the barrel and other parts if using ArmaLite parts of course...
As for the mag...all the same..
The lowers are all the same as well...if not mistaken...just the internals are different if using a match trigger...
Hope it helps...

An A4 is a fine rifle in it's own right. As someone else stated, you might be happy with the level of accuracy it offers. You can buy a T upper assembly. For barrel replacement, Armalite uses a proprietary barrel nut. If the barrel you're considering isn't made by Armalite, ensure that it'll fit the armalite pattern. Noveske immediately springs to mind when it comes to aftermarket barrels for the AR10.
I am going to spark a bit of like back into this thread that 10-76 started. As it turns out, he got his AR10T,......I have acquired his A4F, it arrives tomorrow. The transformation begins tomorrow.
Plan as of now:
-Carbine receiver extension with HeavyBuffer buffer,
-MagPul CTR stock body
-MagPul MIAD grip
-MagPul trigger guard
-Geissele SSA trigger
-Larue Tactical AR10 13.2 rail with low-pro gas block
-Custom textured KAC hand guard covers
A lot is parts that I have one hand from other builds. I still have to get the glass sorted out.....have no idea.
Really had no plans of picking up a Larue 13.2, but they are hard to come by & I ran across one for sale.
May end up shortening the barrel to 18" down the road.....I do want to keep it lighter than the T models.
I have a bolt gun that shoots .5 MOA, so I have the accuracy thing covered. 1.5-2 MOA is my goal with this.
