Building my SASS was created by OleCowboy
Thanks for the parts, they arrived today:

1) Folding front sight in battery
2) Folding front sight out of battery + Bi Pod Adapter mount
3) AR 10 T

Not to nit-pick, it's a fine looking rifle, but where's the rear sight? Unless the intent is to use the tube of the optic as a de facto ghost ring for the front sight, that is.

Well that is a good, GREAT question. That is a fixed power scope on it, ez on, ez off. So the question is how do you get it all on there? Maybe the 45 degree slant setup???? Not sure, but certainly open to all thoughts. That said I 'sight up' based upon my mission...hogs, Coyote, range zero, target etc and I dress my AR 10 to meet mission requirements, but do bring my kit along so I can make changes...

Put your ideas on the table, I wan to see what others do...

That's a Burris scope with the PEPR mount, isn't it?

Going with offset sights is certainly an option, but it would mean adding 45 degree adaptors to the front and rear. The rear sight is where the biggest issue is, IMO. I'm assuming the optic is placed where you get your best sight picture. That leaves no room to mount a rear sight or even a 45 degree adaptor behind the optic, in order to give you the longest sight radius possible. You could mount a rear sight in front of the optic and use them as short range sights due to the loss of sight radius.

The ACOG I use on one of my 5.56 rigs has a built in set of fixed ghost ring sights. On my REPR I use an ADM mount with QD levers when I want to quickly go to my irons.

I recently picked up a 1-4x24. It's a true 1x and parallax-free out to 100m or so, so it can be used like a red dot and then the magnification can be cranked up to 4x for longer shots.

As for the issue with the sights....you do it like AK or I have seen where someone mounted a Rear sight in front of the optic on the receiver...and reversed it so it flipped up like the front one...might be a solution...
