I say we LINK Lotzoutdoors but make AR10t.com a "paid membership" site.
Heck, I'm sure we would have some members that wouldn't bother but if we start it all now and phase it in slowly, for say, the "members area" and other areas we could make that are NON visible to unpaid members, we could still continue having open threads for a "draw" and yet ALSO let guys know that if you pay "whatever", you will then have access to these other areas where "deals" are often posted for the things we need to live on.
I think if some calculations were done on what kind of income would be required to maintain the site over a certain period of time and then ad a bit in to make it worthwhile for Martin to do, things MIGHT progress slowly at first but eventually come together.
The sooner it happens, the better it would be rather than deliberating.
Martin, do you have any way of calculating costs and coming up with a figure that will keep you out of trouble with your wife and yet not drive away potential members that are "on the fence"?
I frankly couldn't care less how much it is but until we get some real deals going with some vendors, we need to keep it at a level that will be less of a deterrent and more of a "for THAT price why NOT" kinda thing...
Potential increases could come later on once we have gained a solid membership.
Martin, I have my Amazon account routed thru our AR10t.com portal. You WILL still get your percentages from any purchases made won't you? - or was that attached to stupid google?
The great thing about using the AR10t.com portal is if you plug it into your browser, you are only 1 click away from logging in and whenever you make a purchase, there is NO cost difference to you BUT - Martin and the site get a cut which helps us stay in business.
I have it set up so whether I log in or my wife does, it goes through the same way so the site gains even when my wife is shopping for stuff and she is always happy to spend a few dollars for, ya know, "the cause"...

OOOOPppps! I didn't realize that I had set it to require approval. Thanks for pointing it out. I approved everyone and set it so that it will auto approve members now.
