One downside to the "plastic" front sight is that if it is mounted on the gas block, the gas block will heat up after prolonged shooting and melt the sight base.
I do know that Midwest Industries GG&G make sights specifically for the AR-10 gas block.

Good point, wonder what kind of heat the MagPull can handle? Not sure of what melting point a high quality plastic would have...I would think at least about 350 F. Not sure how hot a gas block gets under casual fire...
I picked up some Troy DiOptics. Thanks everyone for all the feedback and help. I had a little bit of a credit, so I was able to bring the price down some.
Lost the bid on that ebay folding sight! That would of been a good pickup just to have.
Oh Darn..Looks like I have to go to the range now. :twothumbs:

None here. I've got a set on my Armalite and another on one of my ARs. Nothing negative to report. I'm not fond of the 1/2 MOA per click adjustment, but they're back ups sights, not primaries.
Two more relevant questions: is a matched set of magpul sights sold for an ar15 usable on my ar10 clone? ...and, what would you use as your primary iron sight if you were going use iron sights primarily?
