So their genius with a printer but do they know how to build a 1911?
There's more to it than putting the parts together..........
Wonder how much a basic production model will be? They'll have to get it down considerably to compete in that market!
I saw three rounds consecutive once and there was obviously an issue with the slide hanging up then. The video does not instill confidence in the weapon.
If they can actually put the parts together as they showed and get a fully functional 1911 then they have something. Even the finest 1911 parts require some hand fitting for a good functioning weapon.
That said I'm sure there are at least 100 collectors of 1911's who will pay the price.

Being a computer geek (engineer) they are not always 100% correct due to a lot of things...ESPECIALLY when it comes to numbers. Few people notice as the round off algorithms generally don't show.
A lot is in how you set it up, such as how many digits to the right of the decimal point...
All that said the data get transferred to the machine and now we are dealing with motionwear on bearings, go too fast and the machine arm develops interia which can put the start point of a grind operation a few .0001's off after a while it all adds up. Nothing a gunsmith cannot do with a fine file and some corus cloth. But to say you can just print one out at the house and run down to the local range and find the 10 ring is a far cry.
