Not crazy at all. Rock Island 1911's consistently get highly rated on 1911 forums. A friend has one and swears by it.

I'm a Glock glutton.

I've only three handguns.
Glock 21 .45 ACP
Glock 30 .45 ACP
And a Charters Arms 38 snubby my mom left to me
when she passed.

I know Glocks aren't sexy, but they go bang every time
I pull the trigger.

Here is my favorite confidence booster. A Springfield loaded with narrow grips and matching skateboard tape. I had a short trigger put in it last time it went in for some adjustments. The magazine "base pad" is supposed to be for self defense if your out of ammo you can crush things. I find the serrations most handy when shooting in winter gloves,it gives you a positive purchase when driving the mag home. Don't just slam it home without gloves though!

The only way I'll pull the trigger on that bad boy is if it's mounted on a tripod!

This is a toy I wanted for a while. Picked it up right before the last election:

Sig P239. 9mm. 8+1 single stack mag. The ergonomics are exactly like the P226 I've been wagging around for 20 years, so there was zero retraining time.

It's not glamorous, cool or outrageous, but it's a lovely thing for CC. It lives in a 3 slot pancake, might be a tad big for pocket carry. We'll see.

Sigs are great. my SP2022 is a little too big for CC but I carry it a lot anyway.I use a Fobus paddle holster. I like the adjustable tension on the break.
By the way that Fisher Scientific ruler brings back memories. My roommate back in the mid 70's worked for them and handed thousands of those out.

And I must have got a thousand of them over the years  . I work in analytical chemistry, and we're a big client of Fisher Scientific.
