The only thing I do different and it probably goes back to my training as a machinist is, I always go past the 12 or 24 clicks by a couple and the come back to the 12 or 24 if that makes sense it takes any play out of the screws and holds the box tight if there happens to be any play in the adjustment.

Get to a 25 m range, set up on bags and slowly "shoot the box"
Be careful to not warm up the barrel.
Take a shot to zero.
Adjust the scope 12 clicks left, take a shot
Adjust the scope 12 clicked down, take a shot
Adjust the scope 24 clicks right, take a shot
Adjust the scope 12 clicks up, take a shot
Adjust the scope 12 clicks left, take a shot.
Where did the last shot impact?
Remember to take your time, do not heat the barrel.
Do not pull shots.

YEP, I learned same back in the early 60's, you are a machinist alright :twothumbs:
Just asking ???
Once in a while, if I have to adjust a scope that is way far off, sometimes it seems that if I go a whole bunch of clicks, say 30 or 40, the cross hairs in the scope does`nt seem to want to respond to such a huge jump.
I`ll then make the adjustments in ten or twelve clicks at a time until I get the hairs moved over to where they need to be and, lightly tapping the scope between stages.
Has anyone else had that problem ???
Just sort of throwing this idea out there.
